The Courtyard - Cosy, secluded with luxury suite, hotel in Walmer

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, The Courtyard - Cosy, secluded with luxury suite is situated in Walmer, 2.7 km from Deal Castle and 5.1 km from Sandown Castle.

The Courtyard was a fantastic find. It was cosy and well equipped. A welcome pack was there for our needs and unlike a lot of places we have visited it had a fridge… so fresh milk for teas and coffee. The outside area was romantic and charming … so lovely to sit in. The location was great as we could leave the car and explore the area by train as the station was on the doorstep. Would definitely recommend. The host was very accommodating and quick to respond to any quieries we had before, during and on departure.

Waterfront Hotel, hotel in Walmer

Built in 1700 and overlooking the pier, this family-run hotel is close to the town centre, the bus and train stations, golf, fishing, and is 8 miles from Dover ferry port.

It was clean and had everything I needed. It even had two bottles of water for us to have which was great. And having breakfast was good.

The Fleur De Lis, hotel in Walmer

The Fleur De Lis is located in the heart of the beautiful medieval town of Sandwich. The property features 11 en-suite rooms, a full bar and restaurant service.

"Stumbling upon this gem of a pub accommodation was a stroke of luck for us! We needed a spot to rest our heads before an early morning Channel Tunnel journey, and this place exceeded our expectations in every way. The rooms, situated above the pub, were not only conveniently located but also boasted a handy side door and fire escape, ensuring a seamless early morning departure. Upon arrival, despite our late check-in, the staff welcomed us with open arms. Their warmth and friendliness instantly made us feel at home, and they even took the time to offer recommendations for nearby dining options when we missed the kitchen hours. While the rooms may have had a slightly dated charm, they were clean and offered excellent value for money. This establishment truly understands the importance of a comfortable stay without breaking the bank. Should our travels ever lead us back to the area, there's no doubt we'll be returning to this wonderful spot. Thank you for a memorable stay—we couldn't have asked for a better experience!"

Kings Arms Hotel, hotel in Walmer

Situated in Sandwich, 1.2 km from Sandwich Railway Station, Kings Arms Hotel features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. This 4-star hotel offers a bar.

The King's Arms is a very old property and therefore the owner/manager is limited in what they can do. The decoration in the room is a little tired but reasonable clean. All normal facilities provided in the room. Meals were very good and the staff were very helpful. Reasonable value for money and parking was easy despite the King's Arms beng on the main street into Sandwich

The beach is on walking distance and a lot of nice little towns you can visit nearby. We have especially liked our visit to Walmer Castle and gardens. One of the nicest grounds I have visited in England.

We visited the area for a wedding at Kingsdown. Walmer was an excellent location for the weekend. We walked to Deal one evening and caught the train back to Walmer at the end of the night. It was great to have the station nearby.

Lovely walking along the beach front both to the south towards Kingsdown and to the north to Deal and Sandwich. Fascinating castles in Walmer and Deal. Good choice of takeaways nearby. We chose Seaview fish and chips which was excellent and Dominos as we wanted home delivery. The pier makes a nice walk and the restaurant/cafe at the end of the pier serves lovely food including cakes!
