The Alverton is perched on the outskirts of Truro city center. A magnificent, grade II listed building steeped in history, boasting original architecture dating back to the nineteenth century.

Big lodge in a remote and quiet place, very clean, has everything you need, even for cooking. Big tv with Netflix. Very comfortable beds and good quality blankets.

Truro is a lovely city in Cornwall. People are friendly and hospitable. Tons of restaurants, shops, cafe's, and there is a Town Hall that has entertainment, movie house so a short stay here would be filled with lots to do. The Cathedral is a lovely place to visit and there is lots to do from this central point.
Hire a car and head to Newquay, Falmouth or St Ives for the day.

City centre was lovely!
City centre was lovely! We enjoyed meandering through the cathedral (which was very grand, the architecture absolutely brought me to tears, managed to light a prayer candle for lent, also they have an ongoing exhibit about awareness of abuse in the church) and the cornwall museum is closeby :D they have wacky artefacts. The coffee and cornish pasties and the pastries are the bomb dot com but the other grub not so much, i mean, it's just typical british fare innit haha also truro station connects easily to penzance and the other more touristy bits. Transportationwise, quite hard, buses are a little but unreliable even with the time table. Not much uber drivers but the taxis are popping. There are taxis around the station and they have a taxi calling app and there are cards that you can get from the accommodation. Pretty old timey but charming.

Truro is an attractive small city and it’s easy to find parking and to walk around the shops and see the cathedral.
There are plenty of places to have coffee or lunch.
The bus station is right beside the shopping area, which has a large Marks and Spencer’s, which has a cafe, a large branch of Waterstones as well as a good selection of independent shops and an indoor market.

Great base for exploring Cornwall but not sure what it’s like in summer. We parked in the town with ease but we visited in November.
Masses of shops. It is the county town so is a magnet for shoppers.
Cathedral and Cornwall Museum worth a visit. Hall for Cornwall has a variety of shows.
Thoroughly enjoyed the pasty shop for lunch.
Check roadworks though. A30 was closed intoTrurofor the whole weekend whilst work is going on building the new by pass. It took us ages to follow the detour.

I did want to explore the town a bit more, especially the cathedral, but this visit was to see a show and I had to return the next day.
I had a meal at an Italian restaurant literally up the road from the hotel, it was decent enough.

Truro is a lovely place to visit.
Truro is a lovely place to visit. Old and new buildings to see and plenty of places to go. Resturants of many different cuisines and a nice open area to sit and chill with a coffee. There is a beach, about 7 miles away, (Perranporth) which is lovely and has the traiditional fish and chips, kiss me quick hats etc and you're not too far away from the north side so Newquay etc is all available within 45 to 60 minutes in the car.
Supermarkets are a plenty in and around Truro too. The catherdral is a must to visit. A beautiful building and well worth some time spent.
the breakfast was a bit basic but plenty of it. We could help ourselves to bread and top ups of breakfast cerials.
The hosts were super friendly and attentive , very pleasent and easy going.
The beds were comfortable and the the tent spacious. The site was very good ,only the two bell tents with a privacy screen between them. Lovely hot showers and a small shared kitchen area which was adequate for our stay. Great location for getting around Cornwall.rking space next to the tent.
The caravan was spotless and the kitchen was all in good working order. The bathroom was massive with a separate shower and full bath.
The hosts were great and helpful and also provided some Cornish goodies.
The view across the farm was beautiful with wild rabbits, peacocks next door and other wildlife.
Great location, literally 5 minutes drive to Perranporth Beach and 5 minutes from the main dual carriage way which runs through Cornwall.
This is a stunning property. Immaculately presented with quality decor, bedding and towels. Well equipped kitchen. Extremely comfortable beds. Claire has thought of everything!
Short riverside walk into Truro or Boscowan Park. Elevated position providing beautiful views across the river with fab sunsets. Easy access to major routes for visiting other areas of Cornwall. Generous parking area - a definite bonus when booking stays in Cornwall.
The owner was really lovely and welcoming. I didn't feel like a stayed at a hotel...felt like their house. Little things like pillow spray, sweets, bottled water, bath products. Really really lovely. I would definitely stay here again!! And the food in the restaurant was amazing! And they noticed I was a vegetarian at dinner and they had a vegetarian breakfast waiting for me in the morning. Very nice people, very nice hotel!!
We organised a last minute break 4 night break to Cornwall and chose Chycara because it was within budget, the location was perfect and the accommodation was different to what we’d normally book (a b&b/hotel). We stayed in the Lake Lodge which was, as you’d expect, near the lake. It was clean and tidy and located in beautiful, peaceful grounds. Set just outside of Truro we were within easy reach of the east & west coast.
A great location with amazing, huge rooms which were extremely comfortable. The Townhouse has a pretty garden that you can sit out and relax whenever you want to. We had a continental breakfast delivered to our room each morning which you could eat either in your room or in the garden. We also had room service each day of our stay! I cannot recommend this hotel enough! I cannot wait to go back!
Great location - convenient for town and very close to our son who lives in Truro. The room was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities you would need. Extra large (four poster) bed was very comfortable too. Breakfast arrangements were very convenient and there was plenty of choice. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and have already recommended the hotel to others.
Comfortable clean rooms. Nice outdoor area for drinks on patio and elegant restaurant, interesting menu and meals delicious. Staff friendly and helpful, particularly the young serving staff and those on reception.
Great location, walking distance Truro centre and as a base for exploring Cornwall.
This is a hotel we will come back to.
The guest house itself is charming and very comfortable! The view of Truro from my room was fantastic, and it was nice having a good breakfast provided in the mornings. I felt I had easy walking access to the city and the train station. The owners were considerate and welcoming as well! I had a great experience overall!
The location is excellent - about 10 mins from Truro centre by cab. The room was clean and comfortable - with a lovely view of the Cathedral! There is free parking on site which is a big bonus in that area. We are local and were visiting The Hall for Cornwall for a concert so it ideal for us.
Mannings Hotel is very well located in the cente of Truro and an added bonus is the onsite parking. We stayed in one of the apartments which was sheer luxury with two TV screens, free wifi making for a very happy daughter! We paid extra for a full english breakfast which was delicious.
Very comfortable room with everything we needed. Very good continental breakfast in a beautifully refurbished dining room. Plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel and just a 10-minute walk into Truro city centre. Excellent, friendly service from all staff too.
ideal central location if you visiting Cornwall, spent few days here as a base to go to Eden project, Padstow, St Ives etc. Hotel was clean, staff friendly and had overall good feel
It was clean, very comfortable, the hostess met me at the hotel and showed me everything .
Snacks were provided as breakfast not available.Everything in the room worked.
Brilliant.
