Love this hotel! The staff was wonderful and everyone was very gracious during our stay. My brother and his wife loved their room and the furnishings - a step back in time. It was like a honeymoon for them. The food in the dining room was delicious especially the duck breast! My sister and I enjoyed our rooms, very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again . thank you to all the staff. We certainly enjoyed our conversations with all of you.

There really aren’t enough words to express how outstanding this property is. Photos do not do the location or house justice. Additionally, the food, whisky, and service are outstanding. We were lucky to get a reservation in the first place, and luckier still to be able to be rebooked when our travel was derailed. If you are thinking about it, give yourself the pleasure of staying here.

Dennis was a great host, as were his dalmatian partners in crime! The guest house was spotlessly clean. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast options would suit all tastes, and the facilities allow everyone to have a lovely stay. The location was perfect, with a Tesco very close and the centre of town being an easy walk away. If traveling to Tain by train, the guesthouse is a 5 minute walk away. Having said this, the location is lovely and quiet, and we slept incredibly well. I highly recommend Shandwick House and will definitely stay there again.

I stayed in the small separate cottage right next door. That’s the cats pajamas. Was my local back in the eighties ..felt good to be back. My compliments to the chef for that spicy salmon dish.
