A beautiful town with lots of quirky independent shops, an amazing food market and market. I love it and would love to live here. Easy to reach both the coast and York from here so an ideal place to stay for a holiday.

Wonderful range of independent shops, and cafes.
Wonderful range of independent shops, and cafes. Leonis coffee shop was one of many excellent places to eat/drink. Captain Barneys provides great facilities for the younger members, especially if the weather is not ideal. Free parking for 2 hours in the market place area - good luck finding a free space, but there is a large car park 5 minutes from the centre of Malton - prices not ridiculous.

It was nice to have streets not taken up with many charity shops which seems to be the trend in other areas.
Plenty of places to eat as long as you don't leave it too late.
People are very warm and welcoming.
Electric vehicle owners beware. Although some charge points are available they are scarce and had to charge in the evening to ensure enough charge for the next. Being in a rural area, having more charge points would have taken some of the extra planning and anxiety away and made the visit totally enjoyable.
Went to the market but only 3 stalls set up. I suppose that's a reflection of today's economy.
Overall, we loved Malton and will use it has a base to visit other areas of North Yorkshire

Unfortunately leaving was the best part.
Unfortunately leaving was the best part. It was very expensive for what you got. The room was vintage as expected but the shower ceiling was black with mould and triggered my Asthma with the smell. My wife wouldn’t shower due to the smell. The staff were miserable and did what they needed to but no more.
Only told three days earlier that Xmas parties were on so no Kithchen on night we were there. No time to change venue as all booked up. I am sure they new well in advance about the parties, I booked well earlier so not happy at last minute warning.

Had a lovely one night stay in Malton.
Had a lovely one night stay in Malton. We went as it is known for food and we have a great meal in Omni. The photos online really do not do the restaurant justice as it really is a stylish interior. The atmosphere was inviting with good music which was at a level that did not inhibit chat.
We also had a delicious lunch at the Malton Relish and a great brunch at Lutt & Turner. We also purchased some takeaway pastries and cakes from The Purple Carrot for our journey which we really enjoyed. We also bought a fabulous rye bread from the Bluebird Bakery which I throughly recommend. Malton was very easy to walk around and we plan to go back.

Malton is a small market Town with a number of Bars and restaurants to cater for all needs. Be advised that some places do not open Monday-Tuesday and sometimes Wednesdays. Close by is Eden Camp which is a former prisoner of war camp which is now a museum. To make good use of the camp you will need around 3-4 Hours of viewing.
The Talbot Hotel. This Historic building is very well attired, appropriately styled and decorated throughout . Our room was spacious , clean and well facilitated . We were very impressed with the quality of Breakfast, evening meals, and enjoyed pleasant evening's in the Bar. The Staff were exceptionally helpful and very accommodating, making our stay warm and welcoming . The location of this Hotel is also Ideal for walking and discovering the Town, its history. artisan shops. Also the outlying Villages and places of interest.
This is a fantastic property - highly recommended! Excellent, high-spec chapel conversion with everything you could ask for. Clear and friendly communication with the owner, who goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is perfect (with a lovely ‘welcome basket’, flowers and offers to reserve an arrival meal in the local pub / take in supermarket home deliveries for you). The accommodation is warm, spacious and comfortable - and perfectly located to explore the North Yorkshire Moors area. We had a great time here - thank you!
The host was very accommodating with our early arrival and technical difficulties receiving self check in information, explaining over the phone and following it up with a text message. The room was perfect for our weeks holiday and was in central location that made visiting places in the area easy including catching the train to York for a day trip. We didn't need to use it but there was a store room with essential supplies for us to help ourselves to during our stay.
This wasn’t the first time my wife and I stayed here and this visit was every bit as good as the first. The room is very clean and the bed is very comfortable. The pub is ideally located for all aspects of a leisure break in North Yorkshire and provides good food and drinks at very reasonable prices, everything you would need for a quite country break. Highly recommended.
Incredibly quiet and tranquil location at one of the highest points in Yorkshire. Solid Victorian farmhouse that exuded permanence but surprisingly warm and cosy inside. Pleasant, light and airy room. Wifi good and preparation for next day's work easy. Good homecooked food, one could describe as wholesome rather than gourmet.
I really liked the property, it was really clean, well equipped and comfortable, home from home like feel to it. Location was brilliant for sightseeing places like the Yorkshire moors, Whitby and York. Hot tub was great and the lodge was really spacious.
The rooms were splendid, spacious with absolutely appropriate decoration and furniture for this period property. Dinner was excellent. The location, just across the road from the Malton food court and the market square, could not be bettered.
this inn was perfect. the staff was so accommodating, the food was delicious, the room was quiet and comfortable. it is about 10 minutes from Malton, 20 minutes from Pickering, right in the middle of beautiful farm country.
lovely apartment ideally located for touring North Yorkshire close to town with all facilities and many pubs serving excellent food. with the bonus of a large swimming pool at the complex which we had mostly to ourselves.
Beautiful grounds and the building is historic and set just off the town centre. the room was large with a double bed and two singles. bathroom was large and very clean and the feeling within the hotel was relaxed.
A very comfortable and friendly small hotel in a beautiful setting.
The room had comfy beds and all the extra touches that made our stay so enjoyable.
A fresh and tasty breakfast.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Nice decor throughout. Bed/ Bedroom comfortable with superb views of the countryside. Great to be able to walk into Malton town centre. Dining room large and very Covid safe. Staff lovely and friendly.
Location was perfect, 5 min walk into Malton town centre. Fully equipped cottage, very homely. Spotlessly clean, good quality fittings and furnishings.
