Great cottage, spacious with a lovely garden. It was well stocked and the owner went above and beyond. There was a lovely trail walk which my daughter enjoyed. We wanted to stay longer and would definitely go back.

Seems more like an accommodation inn than a pub. Huge breakfast.

I have to be truthful it was horrible .
I have to be truthful it was horrible . The place needs total refurbishment it is tired and not the cleanist. There was bird pooh all on the balcony. There are screw holes in the walls not filled. The shower is rubbish and there is damp and paint pealing off the ceiling. The plug in the sink was not attached to a chain and the sink was stained and also grubby where it met the counter top. The towel rack was askew and not fixed securely. The bathroom floor was grubby and the bath was not the most inviting even to stand in the top part of the bath tap was missing where it would state hot or cold. Rip in sofa. I laid in my clothes all night as the place made me feel itchy and totally depressed. Could not wait to get out of there and was not worth the money. Not sure how people gave it Good reviews It's a depressing hell hole. The only nearby restaurant was McDonalds in the adjoining service station .

The room was fine. Checking in was dreadful.
The room was fine. Checking in was dreadful. I arrived in the middle of Storm Arwen at 1445. I was told I could not check in until 1500 despite the hotel being completely empty and to come back in 15 minutes. So had to drag my luggage back. Naturally on returning there as then a queue of 20 people all crowded into a small foyer wanting to check ins which makes a mockery of social distancing.
The next morning a fire alarm (continuous) went off for about 2 minutes. I dressed to get outside (it was -1 and snowing) and as leaving the alarm stopped. No one explained to guests if this was safer to stay or return in.
While not a problem for Days Inn, the Annandale services EV charging station is a joke. There is one charger with 3 different connectors but only one car can charge at a time. There was a queue of 4 cars waiting. I went out at midnight to charge mine but had I been on a journey I’d have had a 4 hour wait for a charge facility.

The lake area, accessible from the hotel, service station and aroundabout, is just gorgeous. So relaxing and plenty of places to sit and eat or lie and dose in the sunshine or just watching the birds. Wonderful.

So it is on the motorway station, so for an em route stop without any variety it is okay.
Personally I think the location and service facilities were poor, although thankfully there is an M&S at the petrol station for something pleasant to eat.
The hotel it’s self is pretty run down, under staffed and a bot ropey tbh.
Although it serves a purpose I guess.
I would stay here again, which I guess speaks volumes.
Ideal stopover on the way up or down from the Highlands to Essex. Area round the lake is ideal for a small walk for the dog, and dogs are also now allowed in the Services (they were not on our previous visit). Staff were friendly and the hotel was far enough away from the road to be peaceful
Great option for a pit stop stay, especially as it is pet friendly and offers free car park. Annadale Water is behind the hotel and was ideal for a morning stretch of legs, including for a quick dog walk. Hotel room was spotless and big
This Inn totally took us by surprise, it is a motorway services Inn, but had the views of a luxury hotel. The bedrooms were spacious, clean, warm and comfortable. Everything you need for a comfortable stop.
A budget Hotel delivered what was expected. The only real complaint was that the mattress was rather uncomfortable. The view of the car park suited us as we wanted to be able to keep an eye on the car.
The view was beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and we had a very quiet nights sleep. We were more than happy with the facilities and services provided by the hotel. Tea and coffee very welcome
Our room is great and clean. They were accommodating to have our family in one room with additional mattress added in. The restaurant with a lake view was just next to the hotel, very convenient.
Good value for money have stayed here before and find for a motorway hotel it is very good for one night but even if you want to visit the area a good place to stay for longer
