This was an old inn, comfortable and easy-going but not smart. Our room (first-floor double) was well lit and had a nice view of the curving high street, Good parking at the back, through an arch.
Lechlade is a small market town on the upper Thames, with an 18th-century bridge. The long-distance Thames footpath runs past. Only a few miles away (walking distance for the fit) there is a National Trust house, Buscot Park, and also Kelmscott, once the home of William Morris, also often open to the public. In Buscot church there are several stained-glass windows by his friend and artistic associate, Burne-Jones.

Highworth is a lovely small market town with lots of interesting history. It has a very useful visitor centre with a small museum. The surrounding area is beautiful with a lot of ancient historical monuments and sites within easy reach. The cotswolds are on the doorstep and it is an easy trip to Bath.

Loved the location and fantastic food.
Loved the location and fantastic food. Room quite tired and could do with comfier beds. Great value for money. Met some friendly locals full of knowledge of the town's history including the tunnels that go under the town from every pub to the church. There's even an original door to it in the cellar bar a few doors down from the Saracen. We are vegetarians but even I was tempted with the food on offer in andd outside the local butchers and the Saturday market was a pleasure to walk round.cathyUnited Kingdom

Saracens hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful to tell us how to get into Swindon as we was going to the town center for a cocktails.. the garden area at the hotel was very nice we had sat out in the cobble stone area in the evening for drinks but in the inside area they have tv which was showing the cricket and other sport events.trevorUnited Kingdom
