Mercure Haydock Hotel, hotel in Haydock

This 4-star luxury hotel and spa is set in a Georgian mansion style building surrounded by attractive landscaped gardens. Liverpool and Manchester are both 30 minutes’ drive away.

We had to change to a different room because the TV wasn't working. We then got moved to a different room and the lights didn't work properly... the lights only displaced the full room not the bedside lamps. There was no literature in terms of ordering food, I had to order it off mum mobile phone. No phone in room.

Holiday Inn Haydock, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Haydock

The hotel is superbly located, just off junction 23 of the M6 motorway, next to Haydock Park Racecourse, and serves as a gateway to the entire North West region.

Breakfast was very good and catered for our needs. The dinner was excellent and the room was very clean with a comfy bed. We liked the pool area and the bar was very nice, although a little tight when busy. Also, the electric car charging point was well located.

Holiday Inn Express Leigh - Sports Village, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Haydock

The Holiday Inn Express Leigh is situated adjacent to the state-of-the-art Leigh Sports Village. Located just off the A580 that links Manchester and Liverpool and 4 miles from the M6 motorway.

For me, this hotel excels in the seven areas I need: 1. It's clean 2. It's safe 3. Comfortable beds 4. Great showers 5. Reasonable prices 5. Plenty of parking 7. Great location (easy to find and exit, big supermarket within a few minutes of walking, hot meals at the nearby pub again within 5-10 mins walk, and large shops nearby in the Sports Village for when you realise you've forgotten something). I don't need staff to be running around after me, they just need to check me in and out efficiently and ensure I have a clean room, and the Holiday Inn Express team here are great at this. (Special thanks to Wendy [I think?] and Thea from Reception, and especially to Steven from the housekeeping team!) They're a small team who seem to be working hard and doing a pretty intensive job on their feet for hours at a time looking after hundreds of guests but everyone I met was pleasant and quick to answer any questions. The air-con is loud to start but it's effective and after the first half-hour it just became background noise. Same when there was a very cold night - the little panel by the door is easy to use and soon warmed up the room. There's also a little heater in the room in case you get chill. I've stayed at other hotels in the same price range and this one is head and shoulders above them. Will definitely continue to try to stay here whenever I'm in the area. Thank you.

Large rooms , swimming pool and spar good , some rooms that face the back can be noisy due to wedding venues, breakfast ok , busy on haydock race days , bar is always under staffed and can be long waites for drinks , especially when weddings on.

The hotel was very nice but I would reccomend going when there isnt any wedding party on. It was very busy and it seemed somewhat understaffed to help everybody with their issues. The staff was pleasant. Although you could see they were extremely busy and under pressure.

The hotel is actually nearer Ashton in Makerfield than Haydock, however perfect for the racecourse and short drive off the M6, very easy to find. I wasn't visiting for sightseeing but visiting family for a celebration so am familiar with the local areas. J23 of the M6 offers convenient links to liverpool/manchester/chester etc. great base for visiting all the North West has to offer for those visiting for business and leisure purposes.

On arriving I found the staff warm and friendly, they were very informative of procedures, I'd made a special request upon booking which they were able to accommodate no problem. Our room was clean, with all the usual facilities, and the bathroom though small, was spotless and all in good working order. The bed was abit firm for my personal taste, but that's my personal preference. The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel stay, plenty of choice, excellent quality and very fresh, the restaurant staff were warm and welcoming, all in all a very positive experience.

I am on the autistic spectrum and when you have not travalled since covid your first solo trip for eurovision without anybody is going to be massive well it was and everyone was so kind - staff helped out I was overwhelmed with how kind they were. when I came back early because I had overstretched myself they put it on in the bar I did not want to upset other guests in the hotel who wanted football but they were happy to another kin gesture which just addded to a beautiful experience

Though the place was busy with racegoers we received a friendly welcome and checked in very quickly. We had an evening meal in the bar which was very good and very reasonably priced. The menu was pub grub but there was a good and varied choice, nicely presented and good quality. The room was comfortable with a nice bathroom and very comfy bed. Breakfast was great - a nicely cooked and plentiful full English.

Very convenient for the traffic network. Ample free parking. Very friendly reception staff, check-in was fast as we had already completed all our details online. Room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Considering there was a very large function on in the hotel when we arrived with loud music, we could not hear anything from our room. Would
