A delightful village with access to everywhere in lakes and surrounding areas. Great history and even has a training stables- lovely to see the racehorses out every morning in the village. Evening meal in The Boot and Shoe was very nice and service was very efficient and friendly. Breakfast in the pub was absolutely superb, as good as any I have experienced. Room was a bit tired but clean and comfortable. Bathroom needs better ventilation.

The village itself is charming and quiet but within easy reach of the M6 - ideal for us as this was a stopover travelling south from Scotland. We arrived on a busy Saturday evening and the friendly staff were welcoming and helpful despite facing a crowded bar and restaurant. Once settled we enjoyed decent pub food and a drink. Breakfast was good the next morning.
