Absolutely fantastic place to stay, so different and would highly recommend. Weather was lovely and sat with Prosecco on the decking, which was on ice for us when we arrived. 1 night was too short - will be back again.

West Dean College, hotel in Funtington

Set in acres of West Sussex countryside, West Dean College is just 6 miles from historic Chichester and 13 minutes’ drive from the heart of the South Downs National Park.

As something of a history buff staying in such surroundings was quite special, the evening reception gentlemen were particularly helpful---it was a really foul evening weather wise and allowed me to leave my car in the "reception" car park rather than battle the elements walking from the regular one. Only wish I could have stayed a little longer (in better weather) to appreciate the grounds fully.

Funtington was a quiet village and the local pub just a short walk from the B&B. There are several footpaths out into the countryside from the village centre, including one linking the old church to the large duckpond. Kingley Vale National Nature Reserve is close by and the ancient yew trees are certainly worth the walk from the reserve car park.
