We liked the location, facility inside the hotel, the family suite which was having good privacy. The view outside the room was amazing particularly while enjoying the hot tub. Breakfast was good, we enjoyed every bit of it. Plenty of parking space.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, a real home from home.
The cottage was absolutely beautiful, a real home from home. It was equipped with everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Views from the cottage were lovely looking over the countryside. The garden was nice although we didn't sit out but is ideal for anyone with children or dogs as its fully enclosed. The roads to the cottage were quite narrow but certainly didn't put us off, as this is the case with a lot of roads in the area. It was ideally located 15 mins from Windermere and same to Kendal. Would recommend the Old Watermill pub for eating out, they are dog friendly and the food is beautiful but not too pricey. Will definitely book again.

The facilities are dated and all be aware the dogs are noisy especially if left in rooms on their own , and with being a dog friendly hotel , it should be identified that the rooms are not up to the cleanliness of a normal hotel, any movement in the night, the dogs bark and when one starts, they all go for it.

We loved the location but you need transport.
We loved the location but you need transport. If you are looking for peace and quiet in a rural location this is a great location.
It is only a 15 min drive into Bowness so a busier, tourist location is nearby. The location is good for both central and south Lakes. We would recommend.

Not much to say because there isn't much in the village except a very nice pub/restaurant. However, returning to the solitude of the village after a day with the tourist masses in Windermere, Ambleside etc is welcome. There are some lovely walks around the village into the hills, though we didn't tread them on this occasion.

Liked that the location although it seemed a bit out of the way was very tranquil, and considering how busy bowness was, it was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle, but a good location for driving to and from the lakes. The hotel itself in parts looked a bit dated, but was very clean, pool and steam room were good, didn't use the gym so can't comment, overall it is a hotel I would definitely return to.
The location is stunning with beautiful gardens and scenery. Dinner at the bar was lovely and I was blown away with how pet-friendly the hotel was. Our dog was allowed to go everywhere that we went, including to dinner/breakfast. There is a lovely pond with ducks and ample space for children to play, dogs to play, picnics, etc. The menu had a good variety of options and despite COVID, it was easy to order items from the bar, etc. Well done :)
The service within this hotel was exceptional and when we had dinner there it was one of the best meals i have had. Very good value for money, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The Spa facilities were clean and well kept. Honestly cannot recommend this hotel more. Very close to Windermere, perfectly located. Rooms were slightly dated but were lovely, clean and well stocked with tea/coffee stuff and the bathrooms well stocked with soap.
The 2nd room we were given was a vast improvement on the first which was shocking. We paid £195 per night and were shown into a small dank room with a broken dressing table a tiny grubby bathroom. We had to stay in this room for 1 out of our 3 night stay. The subsequent room was an improvement, a decent size and a much larger bathroom which was clean and well maintained. The hotel waiting staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient.
everything although the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.
The restaurant is fairly priced and good food and most of all my wife is celiac and as a nut allergy , I informed the hotel at time of booking and they are right on it . from a meal in the restaurant to breakfast in the morning they had advise and alternatives ready , this allowed us to dine with confidence , and I thank the hotel and staff for this.
The hotel staff were great. Pleasant, helpful, and friendly. The location was a little hard to get to, but close to Lake Windemere, but on a heavy traffic narrow road. However the food was very good. Breakfasts were good and promply served and the dinners were excellent and generous portions. The setting was scenic and quiet.. It was a pleasant stay overall, in spite of the accessibility issues.
The hotel is a little out of the way but would 100% recommend.
The spa facilities (gym, pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi) were included in the price.
Breakfast was very nice and having the ducks at the window was a nice touch.
The garden with duck pond and fountain etc was nice to walk around in the evenings.
The hotel is in a beautiful setting. Very picturesque place. Our rooms were really lovely. I travelled with my sister in law and we both had a room with a four poster bed. Lovely en-suites. Great place for getting into windermere and surrounding areas.
Staff were lovely. Food was great.
The staff were very friendly, the hotel was clean, tidy and relaxed atmosphere. We ate in and were very pleased with the quality and price. The gardens were fabulous too!! From our room window we saw ducks, moorhens, pheasants, rabbits, pheasants, deer and an owl. Fabulous setting.
Have stayed here before and it’s such a beautiful place. All the luxuries of the hotels in Windermere without their price tag. Only compromise is the ten minute drive to town. A fair trade in my eyes. Also the ducks that come to see you at breakfast are amazing!
It is set in idyllic grounds with ample parking.
The hotel has a leisure facility, gym, pool, jacuzzi and steam room
The bar and restaurant are excellent, providing good food and drinks at very reasonable prices.
ALL the staff were absolutely brilliant.
The cleanliness and facilities of the hotel were great. The hotel is located in a picturesque location. Some staff responded extremely well to an incident that occurred during my stay, which was really nice of them. Also, the hotel was dog friendly.
The breakfast was lovely and high quality and the staff were all very friendly, especially with our little girl. There were tea and coffee making facilities in room and the hotel is in a very lovely location
we liked everything about the damson dene hotel , the location , the staff , the facilites ,the food, the drink ,value for money , would highly recommend staying there
