The hotel was very well kept and the room was better than expected. The on suite was excellent. We would have liked two chairs in the room as one of us had to sit on the bed. The breakfast was of a continental help your self affair. But every thing we needed was provided. The fact it was included in the room price was pleasing. All in all. A very pleasant stay and we would recommend it.

Fantastic breakfast, great location for what I wanted, great answers for any of my 'where to eat', 'getting around', local tips

After a very disturbed night at the Cranley, we walked along into the village looking for breakfast. We happened across The Richard Onslow and had a fabulous breakfast. Mentioning what a ghastly night we had (& didn’t elaborate at all), when I came to pay, they said it was ‘on the house’ as we’d had such a horrible experience in their lovely village ! We were absolutely touched and amazed at such a wonderful gesture. We will be staying there next time, no doubt about it. ❤️

A lovely large village.
A lovely large village. Plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. Beautiful old buildings. Amazing village hall, and hospital. Felt safe walking about in the evening.

everything was very nice in Cranleigh, good location for the wedding I was attending and really nice place to have breakfast on a sunday morning was Richard Onslow, bacon sandwich was great and the service was too. Look forward to returning again soon.
I have been staying for 7 nights in this pleasant old country pub/hotel. I stayed in room 1, which is very cosy and features exposed beams and a large bathroom with a freestanding tub. Overall the whole property has been renovated very tastefully, still preserving the Charme of a building dating back to the 17th century. The breakfast was every day very good, there was enough choice to have a different one every day.
Staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and professional. I will definitely return when the occasion arises.
The Richard Onslow is a gorgeous hotel/inn, with really friendly and helpful staff, a very comfortable room, and delicious breakfast! I particularly liked the fact that there were coffee bags in the room, rather than instant coffee. It was also cool to be able to see the wattle and daub in the wall, which had been made into a lovely decorative feature and gave a really great sense of the building's history.
Extremely unprofessional and rude staff. They simply don't care about the guest. Of all tours in Europe, never had a such a rude behaviour from staffs of a hotel. They said 'yes' to each query till I made the payment. After that they said 'I don't care anymore' with a straight face, even with the basic requirement like 'can you please fix the light of the toilet, none of them are working'!
We were attending a dog show at the cranleigh show ground and the barn conversion literally backs on to the show ground. The location was perfect.
The host Pep is a really lovely lady, she was very welcoming. She also let us have a later checkout which was very much welcomed after a long day stood out on the rain the day before
Nothing went well. I booked through booking.com. There was no message from the owner so I called them the day beforehand to check and they let me know that they discontinued this rental months ago. I was then stuck and could not find anywhere to stay in Cranleigh. Thanks for nothing booking.com.
Lovely, modern pub in central location
Outdoor seating to enjoy the sun
Allocated parking for the rooms which is a treat as Cranleigh’s parking is always challenging
Private mews style entrance to the rooms was nice
The quiet location was ideal for travelling to see family in Loxwood, Cranleigh for shopping and also not far from the sea. House was fully equipped, clean and spacious. I would stay at the Barn House again.
The staff was particularly helpful and welcoming! The room is a good size with a comfortable bed and the location of the hotel/pub is nice as there are a few restaurants and amenities close by.
Tucked away on the edge of the Surrey Hills yet a short drive or reasonable walk to the local town, shops and pubs. Quiet, safe, nature, lovely. Hosts could not do enough to help.
Friendly staff. Hotel is beginning to recover from pretty dire times. There has been a genuine attempt to improve decor.
Very good Location and easy side access
