Even though I checked into the hotel at the busiest time in the restaurant, all staff were very helpful and friendly. Even booking me a table for later in the evening.

The room was spotless and they had many little touches of genius , like make up removal pads , baby wipes , face cloths and first aid kit. Owner Muriel was very welcoming and they had car parking.

Nice, very safe, well kept, small town with good shops & restaurants, not far from Stirling. Although Roman Camp Hotel is very secluded, it’s actually on the Main Street, on the banks of the river Teith.

Callander is a lovely little town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and walks. The fisheries are beautiful, plenty of benches to sit at and walks around it.
I had a fish supper from the Frying Dutchman which was superb, and the second night ate at The Riverside Inn which was equally as delicious. All very good prices.
The wine shops are lovely and little gifts shops and plenty of cafes.
We stayed in the eyerie room which is almost like it's own flat minus a kitchen
The room is beautiful and bathroom stunning, complimentary shower bits and the usual teas/coffee sachets
Bed is the comfiest bed I've ever slept in and the sofa in the lounge area also super comfy
Camp Hotel also allows dogs but only in the room not in public areas such as the bar and bistro which is understandable
There is also parking on site which is very handy and garden areas which also allows dogs as long as on lead
The Family Room was absolutely beautiful and so much bigger then we were expecting! The shower was so fancy too, even had body jets!! The bathroom itself was all modern and nicely done. The tea/hot chocolate and cookies were a nice touch as well. The location was excellent, 5 minutes from food and Icecream! We enjoyed the waterfall hike behind the hotel as well. Overall I would recommend this place, especially if they upgraded to more modern mattresses!
The location of the Dreadnought hotel is excellent. It's an old hotel which has been there since1870, it's a nice building and has lots of character.
Our room was spacious and clean with a terrific view onto the main street and the river and meadow just across the road.
There's free parking and price wise it was very reasonable. Although its by no means a five star we had a very pleasant stay there and do intend to stay here again
Fantastic location. The Lodge was warm, spacious and comfy. A 20 min walk into Callander and some wonderful scenery a very short drive away. Very easy to get to and plenty of parking. Kate made sure we checked in with no issues and offered help with anything we needed including information about the local area. Very special bit of the world and a perfect base to explore it from. Would love to return again.
Location is perfect, a really good base for a range of walks and activities. It's literally a 5 minute walk into Callander town centre and 6 minute drive to Loch Venachar.
Hosts were so lovely and friendly, really made us feel super welcome and our Cavapoo loved them too!
Very peaceful area, spacious, clean, modern. Definitely exceeded our expectations!
The very warm welcome from the hosts and were very helpful with information on the surrounding area. Breakfast was excellent. The location was perfect for walking the trails/hills around Callander. Nice local independent shops are worth a visit. Meals at The Crown Hotel were very good and reasonably priced.
Staff lovely, setting lovely, hotel rooms bit dated. Was disappointed we couldnt get in into bistro for dinner. Had a very short window for dinner - 7- 8.30pm. the main restaurant 4 course meal was to rich and fancy for what we wanted. Not much flexibility shown - maybe because they are short staffed.
Good situation in a pleasant town within reach of Stirling and Loch Lomond. There was no allotted parking space but we had no problem with finding a space close to the apartment. The apartment was very clean and well equipped for our stay. The shower was absolutely fabulous.
Lovely decor throughout the hotel and very friendly staff!
The room was lovely, clean and comfortable with a nice en-suite.
We were there on a Room Only basis, so unable to comment on the food.
Great location for exploring the area.
Lovely hosts who made our stay very enjoyable. As soon as we arrived, Deon made dinner reservations for us as it was about that time. Excellent breakfast as well. Convenient to Stirling Castle (if you have a car) and local hikes.
We stayed at the Poppies Hotel over our wedding weekend. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and we had a brilliant stay. The rooms were great and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
Fantastic location on the main street in Callander .We had a family room which was spacious and comfortable.Staff were lovely and breakfast coffee was the best I'd had that week.I would definitely book here again .
Just enjoyed a fabulous stay at The Waverley Hotel. Rooms were lovely and comfortable, food was delicious and customer service was exceptional. A perfect stay. Thank you so much, we can't wait to visit again.
Really nice building with great staff. Very good breakfest and it has a good restaurant for dinner (a bit expensive compared to other dinners in the area). The room with the bath was excellent.
The flat was central for all venues and was lovely to stay in. Would recommend this flat as it is in a nice part of Callander and all shops and nice cafes near by.
We particularly appreciated our host. She was very friendly and gave us great suggestions about things to see in the area. And breakfast was delicious.
