Room was spacious and spotlessly clean with large bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Handy location with advantage of Greggs and another fast food outlet on premises. Very quiet considering location. Could certainly not fault it for the price. Would stay again if needed a night’s stopover.

Peaceful, rural location and ideal for a lovely walk to Lyme Regis and buses back. Also convenient for driving to Seaton and Beer. Cosy, warm studio with nice decor, good size ensuite bathroom and lovely patchwork covers. Enjoyed a really lovely stay at the Royal Lion. Room was pleasant and spacious, hotel had charm, and the breakfast was delicious, as also was the food in the restaurant in the evening.

Chose Axminster as most of the accommodation nearer the coast was fully booked, however, it is only 15 minutes drive into Lyme Regis or you can get the bus instead.
Only a small place but there was a Tesco, Post Office and a small market on Thursday mornings. Enough local restaurants to find meals so we could enjoy a glass of wine with our dinner for our 3 night stay.

Axminister is a small sized town, there is a reduced choice to eat in the town on Sunday and Monday evenings. From the places I ate at good food and friendly service.
There some shops closed down, I expect as an affect of covid reducing visitors over the past few years, hopefully business will start to grow again.
No problem getting around on foot.

We were actually attending a wedding over a weekend in Musbury in Axminster and we highly recommend Spillers Farm superb B&B accommodation to other travellers who are visiting Axminster or any other surround areas to stay there as the owners are just so lovely and their breakfasts are perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious and we would certainly love to stay there again in the future and just wish we could have stayed longer ourselves on this lovely beautiful farm.*******
Also we would highly recommend River Cottage in Axminster for your chosen wedding venue, which is set in right in the middle of beautiful surrounding fields and we were very impressed when we attended a wedding there and you will certainly not be disappointed and just wish we could have married there too.*******

Kilmington is a beautiful village with 2 lovely country pubs serving delicious food. Local farm shop good for breakfast and to buy lovely locally produced food if you wish to cook your own food. Lyme Regis is 15 mins away, not very bigbut nice sandy beach and good for fish and chips. Seaton 15 mins away, pebble beach but good for cream teas. Beautiful, rolling hills and countryside for nice country walks and everywhere seems to be dog friendly. The Three Horseshoes pub in a nearby village about 10-15 mins drive away is very popular and serves delicious food at good prices. Lots of boutiques and Tesco, Co op and Boots, etc, in Axminster, which is a short walk away.

Axminster itself was a bit of a let down not really much in town. Had enjoyable day a wild park burrow farm gardens were lovely.
All surrounding areas very nice.
We ate at a few places pilot boat didn’t seem too fussed on virus rules not that clean.cobb arm’s lovely
immaculately clean environment, beautifully decorated. The owners were very welcoming and helpful but gave me space (they were always on hand when needed). Perfectly located for me as I was visiting Castlewood vineyard just opposite, a 5 mins drive to the beach. The breakfast far surpassed my expectations - this is like staying in an “up-market” hotel but with added comforts, unique character (home-baked brownies in the room, home/made preserves and local produce for breakfast) and much better value.
Jayne and Carl were friendly, welcoming hosts. The decor was elegant and we appreciated all of the finishing touches. The bed was very comfortable and the room was bright and spacious. Gorgeous bathroom which was spotless. A quintessential, charming English farm house with beautiful land. Breakfast was delicious; loved that the apple juice was pressed on site and the eggs were from hens on their farm. I stayed with a friend but would love to return with my husband.
Could not falt a wonderful, stay.Hard to leave,it was heaven, quiet comfortable and homely . Fully equipped kitchen, lovoly spacious lounge ,and beautiful bedroom.Thank you Fiona .it's definitely 5* and more.Would not stay anywhere else in Axminster.Only a short walk to Train Station and buses. My freind from Exeter met me twice.Strait of the train and the bus is there waiting. Also parking outside Porters Lodge makes easy unpacking.
Beautiful location, within easy driving reach of Axminster, Lyme Regis, West Bay, Beer, Bridport, all of which were visited and thoroughly enjoyed, day trips, meals out etc. The room had everything we needed and more and every evening we were treated to a view of the beautiful sunset over the local countryside - what an unexpected bonus!
This studio, offers a wonderful clean accommodation.
It is situated on the A35 between Honiton, and Axminster. It allows for easy and quick access to many of the coastal towns in the area.
Offers a very comfortable stay.
Our hosts Karen and John were happy to help at any time.
Will definitely recommend this for short or long stays.
The Shepherds Hut is a very special place. Sarah the owner has thought of everything! Beautifully kitted out and super cosy. It is very relaxing just listening to the birds and watching the sheep roaming around. The surrounding area is beautiful as well. Lyme Regis is a particularly lovely town.
Room was beautiful. Robes, tea and coffee, water, biscuits, chocolates and toiletries provided. Also not only hair dryer but also straighteners and hot brush.
Comfortable bed. Staff were professional, helpful and friendly. Will definitely use again if visiting Axminster.
The location, a stunning view from the terrace. The high quality of the design and decoration of this new hotel. The kindness and availability of the staff and management. The excellent continental breakfast. It comes at a solid price but it gives back a good value.
Charming stay with very friendly owners. Special touches like bottled water next to the bed and cookies left as a welcome were appreciated! We didn't explore the area much because we were busy with a horse show but it's a very pretty location in the countryside.
A very friendly efficient couple hosting a bright pristine B&B. Excellent breakfast which was far superior to the breakfast in the four star hotel where I'd stayed the previous three nights.
The cottage was beautiful, the surrounding area was lovely to explore. The complementary treats left in the cottage were tasty and very welcome. We will definitely be back !!!
The afternoon/evening service was very good, and the hotel was also very good. Good choice on the menu, and the food very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location was a 30 min walk from the Axminster train station so convenient for us. No regular bus running so we walked which we didn't mind as we like a walk.
Lovely old pub with excellent food and lovely staff in an exquisite Devon village setting surrounded by green rolling hills … what more could you ask for?
