Villandry is a beautiful village with a wonderful chateau.
Villandry is a beautiful village with a wonderful chateau. We have visited here three times now in different seasons and the chateau - especially it's garden - is always magnificent. The Chateau was fabulous, the gardens, well, you can understand why they have 10 full-time gardeners. The grounds are more impressive than Chenonceau. Inside the Chateau you are reminded of it's history, however you get the sense that this is a family home rather than a museum piece. Most impressed.

The Villandry chateau is wonderful and the gardens are exceptional. Allow plenty of time to see the chateau and gardens. We ate at our hotel - Haut Lys - which was superb and walking distance up the road. Villandry is very small but it does have a decent selection of cafes and restaurants.JonathanUnited Kingdom
