Owners were very nice and available (they live next door), they kindly left fresh eggs (from the hens roaming free in the garden), butter and a bottle of wine for dinner and offered to set up an extra bed for more comfort! House is in a quiet location, we slept well. Wifi 5g worked fine. There's aircon so we won't hesitate to go back in the summer.

The petite déjeuner was a cut above the rest, in this class. 'loved the proprietors / operators!
The location is superb, although in the summertime when the windows must be opened the amount of agricultural and industrial truck traffic through Varennes might be annoying.
In many ways this hotel is a gem along the lines of a traditional French estaminet in that the owners live in it and the centrally located kitchen is adds much charm to the property and its operation.

Our host was a true gentleman, and helped us to understand the ins and outs of this unique accomodation. We enjoyed the quiet village, and the opportunity to prepare our own repast in our own time. This part of the world seems a bit isolated, so the gite is a gem to discover. We were very pleased to wander the grounds beside the small river and find a calm respite before the call of the road lured us on again.

Cute 300 year old woodcutters home next to the owners home. Wonderful, relaxing stay in the French countryside. Hosts were wonderful providing breakfast, juice and friendly conversation. If I'm ever back here I will stay again as it was a true French experience.
