Logis Hotel Restaurant Le Vedaquais, hotel in Vaas

Set in a former school and town hall building in Vaas, Logis Hotel Restaurant Le Vedaquais offers accommodation in an orchard only a 1-minute walk from the Loire river.

This is an attractive Logis set in the square in the pretty little town of Vaas. It was a great first night stopover for us on our journey from Caen all the way through France and Italy and onwards to Greece. Welcoming staff and a comfortable room overlooking the square. It was unseasonably warm and we were pleased to be able to throw open the windows and look out on the square. Before dinner, we had drinks at the Bar-Tabac across from the Logis. We had a memorably delicious dinner in the Logis restaurant and can highly recommend a visit here. Staff were very pleasant. We didn't have breakfast.

Unfortunately the duration of our visit to Vaas was dictated by our need to get home to UK from our "Winter Quarters" in Spain. The Corona Virus situation in the 3rd week of March 2020 was getting very serious in Spain and France and, while travel on the autoroutes was easy due to the empty roads, we were concerned that our accommodation and travel arrangements might be changed at the last minute. When we pulled into Vaas we were pleasantly surprised to find 1 - that our hotel was open and expecting us and 2 - it seemed we had been transported back in time to a quiet peaceful village situated right on the Loire. We were able to take a short walk from our hotel and found the "memorial to the fallen" near the large church and by the weir on the river. The village has quaint little passages between some streets, passing between large old houses and overall a gentle vibe. Delightful!

Lovely building in the very pretty village of Vaas. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean, well equipped and of a decent size. our dog had plenty of room and was happily welcome in the restaurant. The restaurant deserves special mention for the wide choice available, the quality of the served food and the number of courses ; absolutely exceptional. Making the event special was the attentive and helpful service of the staff, making the stay memorable a;d ensuring a return visit next year.

Really easy place to drive to on our way to the ferry at Caen. Easy parking, pleasant town. Very friendly people and helpful in the hotel/logis. We were shown to our room and the host explained how everything worked. Dinner was very good and staff were very nice. Breakfast was good with great croissants.

Breakfast OK Coffee good. Croissants/bread excellent. Not much fruit available. On balance probably not as good as Ibis. Dinner was excellent. Lovely staff. Very good food, well cooked and served. Car park (very small) was full but safe parking is available right outside the hotel in village square.

We chose the hotel because it was owned by Logis, and was near the Autoroute. Everything was perfect. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room was comfortable, and we had a superb evening meal in the restaurant. We left too early to eat breakfast.
