Tarare is a small town, but with beautiful small shops stores and many options for tours, I loved shopping at the Auchan supermarket, on a walking tour, I found great products for my cuisine and excellent prices. Perfect location for an overnight stay just off the main toll road. Only downside is the restaurant was not open on Sunday night, we have stayed previously and know the restaurant is very good so we were sorry we could not eat there againJackieAustralia - 10Scored 10
We stayed at the Manoir on our way to the South of France.
We stayed at the Manoir on our way to the South of France. We wanted to avoid the big city experience at Lyon and this proved to be a charming diversion. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The Manoir itself fascinating and well restored. We had a room with a balcony looking over the extensive grounds. The hosts made excellent recommendations for where to go for dinner and we had a unique night out.

The fairytale garden with pond, ducks and peacocks makes you feel like you have stepped back a century. The owner was very hospitable and it was really nice to chat with him over an offered aperitif with all the other guests (max 5 rooms). The breakfast the next morning was really good with some home-made jams and a good conversation about the history of "Le Manoir", its previous owners and its surroundings.
