Octon is an attractive tiny village - the 'discovery' in an extensive road trip in France. The hotel/restaurant is in a historic building with a view over the village. Room was pleasant and we ate well in the restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff.
La Palombe is located in the heart of the mountainous, wine-producing region of the Languedoc, just 3.7 mi from Salagou lake.

This place is filled with love , positive energy and extraordinary food which is made in the hotel by an amazing chef who by the way is the hotel manager too ! The view from the room was breathtaking and it is amazing if you need some silence and time to get away from the city ! There is a tennis court and a swimming pool as well so you can really enjoy !

Moureze is an absolutely charming small village that feels cut off from the rest of the world. Although it has a couple of good restaurants, a rustic cafe and the odd shop, it is remarkably quiet with few tourists and feels like a real escape from the hectic world beyond. It is surrounded by hills including the bizarre limestone rock formations which gives the village its fame. You can take a short 1 hour or long 3 hour walk from the village car park to visit the rocks (there is a tourist information office at the car park that provides a free map).
Moureze is also an ideal base to visit nearby Salagou Lake so overall a 2 night stay in the village is probably about right.

Wow, this is a beautiful village.
Wow, this is a beautiful village. There are a few cafes open during the day and a lovely village restaurant at night. And the landscape! Literally, I've never seen anything like it. And it was so quiet. Really lovely. We will be coming back.
Everything. We arrived on motorbikes quite late and we met the owners of the hotel. They were all extremely helpful. They booked us a meal in the local restaurant and even helped one of my mates out with his bike with a top up of engine oil. The hotel itself is beautiful, I knew it would be good but not this good! Room is perfect and clean, the breakfast is extremely good, the location is impressive and the pool really hit the spot in the 30 degree temps! The best hotel of our trip without a doubt.
Fantastic location, excellent services, wonderful atmosphere. The rooms are excellent. Breakfast and the dining room are pleasant with a fantastic view of the surrounding area. Ample opportunities to travel around the hotel.
Whether it is the geological, architectural, historical, or just visiting a lake or vineyard, this hotel provides ample opportunities to enjoy South France. Highly recommended. The manager is so pleasant and made our stay extra special.
We had a room overlooking the mountains and it was very tranquile and the host was terrific as to his kind attention for our short visit. Great breakfast including omelettes by the host served on the spectacular terrace.
We walked the Circe de Moureze the next morning and it is quite an experience, best for able walkers as quite tricky in places. Hotel has a lovely pool and it was great to chill in after a rather hot journey on our arrival.
We stayed only one night on our way to Dordogne. The area is beautiful and the hotel looks like a little village. Very warm welcome by the owner. As it was the last week before the hotel closed for the winter we were upgraded to a second floor with a small terrace. The rooms are large and comfortable. We ate diner at the hotel restaurant which was excellent. All in all a very good experience
Lovely location - if you were planning a walking holiday this would be perfect.
Lovely pool although we didn’t use it. Staff were excellent and very informative and friendly.
A couple of restaurants in the village although one was closed and the other full during our stay but the hotel made a reservation for us at a restaurant 3km down the road.
A lovely place to stay.
great evening restaurant top food ...nice pool, the environment and scenery were absolutely stunning a real haven. the walk to the village very pleasant and the hotel area, chalet rooms et was well spaced out, we were on a road trip to do with work so our stay was interrupted by work otherwise we would have stayed longer to explore the surroundings
The hotel it beautifully maintained, with very kind and attentive staff. You couldn’t get a better location for breakfast - a beautiful terrace with spectacular view - and the pool is perfect. Highly recommended.
