I hesitate to write this b/c I selfishly want to prevent this home from getting too popular. 😂 This property is beyond wonderful. Honestly, the photos actually don’t do it justice. The quaint and charming details of a historic home are around every corner, and a guest’s every need has been thought of by the owner Frank. Perfectly decorated, the home offers lots of space, and the renovated bathrooms are huge by medieval-Europe standards. The town itself is like a dream, transporting back to the context of Pinocchio or Beauty & the Beast. We hiked from this home in Hunawihr to the famous Riquewihr through the beautiful vineyards, which is a slightly more challenging path than expected but worth every effort.

I introduced this beautiful region to my wife and a befriended couple from Denmark and decided to book a 2 nights weekend getaway at the Hotel Val Vignes in St. Hippolyte. The hotel itself is beautiful and so is the location. The service of the frontdesk team and all the employees we encountered is magnificent. We enjoyed every interaction with them. Beeing it pre- and afterdinner drinks, bike rental, wine storage; everything was great, and as mentioned, the staff is superb. The only disappointment was the actual room. We booked the Premium category, but the room didn't look at all as displayed. We had a parking view and the room was just OK. A bummer as it didn't match the overall wonderful experience we encountered at this exceptional hotel. Also, the room cleaning was not up to standard. Dirty towels (we put on the floor) were taken but not exchanged. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, but we would ensure we will get an appropriate room per booked category when visiting again.

The location was good at the end of the town center. Very walkable throughout the town. Parking was plentiful in a public car park just a two minute walk away. Breakfast buffet was very good. A rec room with a pool table and sitting area was a nice feature, as well as a spa and sauna.
