Mercure Saint-Lary, hotel in Cadéac

The Mercure is located in the thermal and ski resort of Saint-Lary-Soulan. Each of the Mercure Saint-Lary guestrooms have modern décor and offer views of the mountains or spa garden.

Our room was wonderful - nice and clean and recently updated (although some corners are quite dated it's very clean and well-kept.) We had a wonderful view over the mountains so could watch the storm roll in whilst sitting on our balcony. It was our anniversary and they had left us a small gift and a card to wish us a happy celebration. Dinner was good (we're not really foodies, but it was very nice) and the cocktails in the bar were excellent. It's definitely a family friendly hotel, and I'm not sure we'd highly recommend it for the best place for a couples' romantic getaway as the dining room is quite utilitarian (it's the same place they serve breakfast) but again, the service was very good. Breakfast was great (for a French breakfast). Loads of choice and all very fresh and local. A huge shout out to the staff member (Nicolas - with the lovely glasses) who checked us in and out who was very friendly and would be one of the reasons we would come to stay again - it's lovely to have a warm, friendly, chatty welcome. Thank you, Nicolas!

Hôtel Les Arches, hotel in Cadéac

Hotel Les Arches is in the centre of Saint Lary, close to the ski lifts and the thermal baths.

Everything was great! We enjoyed the stay and conditions were superb on the mountains, even though it was the last weekend before closing for spring. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and cozy. The thermal pool is not far and the gondola lift is close as well. However I do recommend going to ski station Piau Engaly nearby for a day. We had amazing powder runs there, when in Saint Lary Soulan, there was almost no snow. It is only 30 min away by car The hotel even gave us two breakfast for free since it was the end of season. We will definitely come back.

The entire property is dated and "tired".

The entire property is dated and "tired". It has not been updated since probably the 1970's. It is dark, messy and in need of updating and cleaning. Even the lobby is messy and dark- not a good first impression! Much "deferred maintenance" all around the property. Landscaping is overgrown and neglected. The property has much potential, but current management seems stuck in the past.

A good welcome a tidy, clean room. The rooms have seen many summers but meet all the necessary requirements. The hotel is in a rural setting and from the bedroom balcony there is a great view of the mountains, a lovely setting. The restaurant is fantastic, delicious French food, it is a must to eat here. The breakfast is vast - an amazing variety of foods - and the breakfast justifies the slightly higher price.

Old family hotel in a quiet country area run by a very nice proprietor. The hotel appears to be in need of refurbishment but the rooms are comfortable with ensuite and excellent shower. The dinner was 5 star and rated the best meal we had in France.
