The staff was very kind and helpful. The location is very close to the train station, which was perfect for my late arrival/early departure. It's a great low-cost option in Salamanca. I appreciated having a private bathroom, and the room was nice and warm even with the cold fall temperatures.

We were travelling from the Algarve to Santander to catch the ferry to UK. This was a perfect place to stopover as it was about 2/3rds of the journey. We set off mid morning, arriving around 1900, in time to relax with a drink on the lovely terrace before dinner in the dungeons (excellent meal - best to book your table online with the castle directly). After a leisurely breakfast, it was an easy 3.5 hour drive to Santander to catch the afternoon ferry.

An excellent mid point stop between The Algarve and Santander The dinner was truly memorable in a beautiful dining room, so lack of fellow diners was a bit of a mystery. The castle itself was of considerable interest.

The place is fantastic and the setting and views are wonderful. We had a walk round the grounds and looked at the vineyards. The room was very nice and the food in the restaurant very good, we had wine from there own vineyard and was excellent.
