The location is very convenient for travelling north. Parking is easy. We were given a twin room, although we booked a double. This room had no wardrobe and only 1 light working in the main room. We went back to reception to change for a double room. This room was an improvement as it had 2 lights working in the main room but only 1 in the bathroom. Both rooms were jaded with wallpaper ripped non matching light fittings and a large amount of tiny polystyrene balls on the floor and shelving surface. We have stayed here for many years and we were particularly disappointed because the menu del dia was no longer available and the general menu was lacking in freshness of days gone by. The grill restaurant was vast in area. We were not greeted in a friendly manner, infact it took some time for the staff to appear at all. Sad to say for the extra E20 per night it is no longer a favourite stay and we will be looking for an alternative hotel for future trips. Such a shame.

All was good. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant, room was great. We stayed in a few places on this trip and this was easily the best hotel we stayed in. A pleasant surprise.

Location excellent for travelling to ferry from Southern Spain. Great staff who are extremely friendly and efficient. Breakfast good value also evening meal very good, traditional local food. Very old restored building which the owners have retained many of the original features. Free parking outside building. No hesitation in recommending this hostal.

This attractive hotel is situated in the university area of the city, conveniently just a 5 minute drive from Burgos' old town.
