We enjoyed the breakfast buffet very much. There was a large variety of items offered, including a cooked breakfast if you order it the previous day in the reception. A member of the party is vegan and found plenty of things to have a nice breakfast. They have excellent coffee machines that produce a very satisfactory coffee. The swimming pool was a blessing as we arrived at the peak of a heat wave.

This was the worst booking experience in my life and I've been booking hotels for 40 years. I booked and paid 67 euros through Booking.com for a single room with free parking, and 4 euro breakfast. It was non-refundable, cash only at the desk. The proprietor would not give me a receipt… except supposedly by email.). It was priced 12 euros less than a 4-star hotel in the same town, so I expected something nice. In reality, I didn't get the nice colorful clean single room posted on the Booking.om site. The tiny drab room contained a cheap single cot (not really a mattress) and two bunks. There was no air conditioning, albeit apparently that was in the small print (it was 30 C at 8 at night!). A dirty set of toilets and shower facilities were down the hall. The “Free Parking” was in fact a municipal parking lot several blocks down the hill. It was illustrated on-line with an image of nice clean single room. Additionally the booking was promoted as the “last room” on Booking.com. But in reality the proprietor told me that it was not As soon as I saw the room, I asked for my cash that I had just handed over back since it was nothing like the photos on line and nothing close to the cost. She had initially told me that the room went for 14 euros, before she knew I booked it on-line! I said she could keep the 9 Euro Booking.com commission, but she wouldn't pay the rest and began a convoluted argument on why she should keep it. I asked her to call the police. They eventually came, but due to the language difficulty, they couldn't do anything and left looking confused. After haggling with her for an hour or so, she finally gave me 31 euros back out of my 67 euros. I left and then found a hotel down the road for only 40 euros a night with air conditioning and a private bathroom.
