What a wonderful hotel in a very beautiful location. We had a fantastic stay. We were made to feel welcome immediately by the owners. Their service and attention to detail was excellent. We had the ground floor room. It was spacious and light with views out to to Picos in the distance and the immediate village below. The peace and the calm were incredibly relaxing. The location is ideal for walking trails and incredible scenery.
We had dinner as well as our breakfast there. The food was prepared to a very high standard and was delicious and very good value.
We would fully recommend Refugio del Cares. We will definitely return for a longer stay.

We liked the view and the room. We were able to leave our bikes locked in the courtyard garden under shelter. Staff were both helpful and friendly and did their best for us.

Breakfast tasty and good value. Excellent location. The Camín Encantau around Ardisana and neighbouring villages is recommended as an interesting, pleasant walk. Sunrise through the window leading onto our balcony was quite the best way to awaken on a Spring morning.

I had a wonderful stay! The location is so beautiful, quiet and peaceful. The hotel is very cozy and has a lot of character with a beautiful garden. The room was lovely, good bed, very nice view and was very clean, I couldn’t wish for more. Patricia and Maria were such lovely people. Despite me not speaking a word of Spanish, we had our conversations via Google translate and it worked perfect (next time I will learn a little bit more Spanish ;)
I couldn’t recommend this beautiful hotel more!

Perfect atmosphere and very comfortable. The restaurant is excellent. Very nice staff.
We particularly liked the house and the garden. The garden was immaculate and the house clean and tidy. Unfortunately our breakfast was exactly the same every morning and there wasn’t a choice. It was a very small breakfast. We thought perhaps it might be nice to have a kettle and a fridge to use. There was nowhere to keep our water cool or for us to make a drink. In fact you couldn’t even sit at the tables downstairs as it was all chained off. 😬
