Parador de Gredos, hotel in Navarredonda de Gredos

Nestled in pine forests and beside the Gredos Sierra, this Parador is housed in a stone building dating from 1928. The terrace, library and elegant lounge look out over the lovely gardens.

This is a lovely, historical Parador up in the Gredos mountain ⛰️ range. The quality of the food in the restaurant was excellent. The beef solomillo was the best I've had for years ... honestly!

Hostal Almanzor Gredos, hotel in Navarredonda de Gredos

Situated within a farm in the Sierra de Gredos, Hostal Almanzor Gredos enjoys spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding pine forests.

A superb location amidst trees, quiet and peaceful in spite of being by a road. The hotel was very much catered for lovers of nature, which was perfect for us as we're keen wildlife enthusiasts - but didn't know about this aspect of the accommodation before arrival. The meals were excellent and the proprietors and staff very genial and informative. I thoroughly recommend this base to anyone seeking a tranquil escape from mainstream living.

The wooden floors throughout the hotel are very noisy but we appreciate this is not something easily changed. Our first room was particularly noisy and we considered booking out after one night but reception staff were incredibly helpful and found us a quieter room. This is a great place for walkers and hikers but it was a very long and winding road to get there. While in Gredos, we would recommend going to the caves... that alone was worth the visit! Breakfast was delicious... would definitely recommend it. They have a lovely little gift cabinet at reception.

The accommodation is listed as a Refugio - ie a hostal, so do not expect luxury. It is comfortable. The village is actually Barajas, and Navarrendonda is just a couple of kilometres away, with an excellent convenience store. This whole area is in the Gredos, the mountains in the area NW of Madrid, so the Madrelanous come for the week-end mainly for walking, which we also enjoyed. The whole area is beautiful and we have been in the Gredos several times.

The scenery is absolutely stunning, with incredible mountain walks or pine forests near by. The local bars are friendly and welcoming and a visit to El Parador hotel for a hot chocolate on the terrace is a must. We will definitely be going back to explore this amazing region.

The Parador is in a stunning location in the mountains, perfect for a city getaway. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Compared to other paradors I have stayed at, the Gredos is less luxurious and accommodation and facilities generally more modest. Especially the restaurant is a far way from other Paradors I have stayed at (Granja, Siguenza, Jaen). This being the oldest parador may explain some of the slighty worn out facilities, an update is needed.

This was a last minute booking as we had been let down by another hotel. . We were surprised at the spaciousness of the apartment and of the kitchen facilities, with a lovely terrace to enjoy a glass of Rioja!! Amazing. Conchi provided a good breakfast, and was a mine of information about the village.

Beautiful parador, you can feel the history and the building is magnificent! But it is old and the matrasses are very hard. Breakfast is great, dinner is tasty but pricey. We stayed one night after walking the mountains and for that is was perfect.
