We got the replacement from the hotel staff and stayed in their other hotel in the middle of town, which was very convenient.

The house was gorgeous, great views, spotless, lots of room, comfy sitting room, really well equipped kitchen. Terrace was a great spot for coffee and breakfast, gets the sun all day.
Also, Fina the owner was incredibly helpful when we got ourselves into a car-related pickle. She helped us call our car company and get it all sorted in less than 24 hours. Life saver!

It takes a while to drive up to Artenara from the coast but it is worth staying here to enjoy the views and peace. There are a number of restaurants although they mainly open only during the day so be prepared to eat your main meal during the day. Every restaurant I have eaten in has been good simple and tasty food. There are a couple of small supermarkets however if you wish to cook. The hiking around is great although it does help if you have a car, hiking can be done using public transport. I like that this is a town where people actually live and although there are lots of tourists during the day, by late afternoon, the majority of them have disappeared.
