Seti Abu Simbel Lake Resort, hotel in Abu Simbel

Located at the foot of the Grand Temple of Ramses II, Abu Simbel Hotel offers views of Lake Nasser. It offers a landscaped pool area, luscious gardens and Nubian-style accommodation.

Pleasant surprise-- sort of an oasis in the desert--I was surprised by the massive size of the resort compared to the rest of the sleepy little village. Not a blade of grass in the rest of the town and desert but beautiful manicured lawns at the resort. Multiple pools, coffee bar area, large air conditioned restaurant. Front desk staff were extremely helpful--all staff were very attentive.

Fantastic apartment type living with modern appliances. Simply amazing in rural Egypt. Even the restaurant was good. Breakfast was okay, but I did have the best omelette I have had in Egypt. I really enjoyed my time and have no issues recommending it.

Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Modern facilities, clean, functional. Well placed next to the main street leading into the town. Free parking available if you come with a car. Good choice for one night stay. Recommend, especially that the choice of hotels in town is a bit limited.

Abu simbel Nubian Guest House, hotel in Abu Simbel

Featuring a terrace and views of sea, Abu simbel Nubian Guest House is a recently renovated apartment located in Abu Simbel, 1.6 km from Abu Simbel Temples. The property features lake and garden...

Big spacious rooms that were spotlessly clean and with comfortable beds. The showers were excellent too. The apartments were well equipped and the upstairs one had a nice big balcony to sit out on. Breakfast was very good and the owner went above and beyond to be helpful, including giving us welcome soft drinks, water, and a selection of fruit, driving us to a restaurant for lunch, and picking us in the evening after the light show was cancelled due to technical issues. He also organised a nice boat trip for us. This was one of the nicest places we stayed in Egypt and it was well worth spending the night to avoid the crowds and not have 6+ hours of travelling in a single day.

Kony Nubian Guest House, hotel in Abu Simbel

Kony Nubian Guest House has quiet street views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Abu Simbel, 2.5 km from Abu Simbel Temples.

The host of Kony Nubian may be the smartest host I ever seen in my trip of Egypt. Without losing any detail, he knows how to arrange guests’ dwelling to maximise their benefit . Also, he could read guests’mind. That’s the reason why I feel like a VIP in the period of staying in Abu Simbel. No doubt, the quality of the “guest house” is the best one I experienced in my trip of Egypt.

A must visit historical place with a experience of a lifetime. We visited the sun festival on 22nd February 2024. Though initially we were disappointed with the long queue, the queue moved up easily and we were able to see the rays from 'Ra' shinning on the three statues. While waiting at the queue take time off frrom gazing at the magnificient temple to look east towards the "Ra" rising over the lake. The paintings on the walls are flawless specially more so when you begin to imagine that they were done thousands of years ago. Must visit the nefartari temple. Try the coffee by Lake Nasser.

Must see if you are visiting Egypt.

Must see if you are visiting Egypt. I rate these temples above Pyramids and I have a reason for that. I think Pyramids and other sites in Egypt you will see, admire and appreciate but they won’t stay with you for too long. But Abu Simbel temples will stay with you and will leave an impact not only because of their grandeur but also because of the reason they were built and unprecedented effort it took to save them from being flooded and submerged forever. And despite being so enigmatic themselves, they give you some perspective..It’s been a few days that I have visited these temples but still when I close my eyes l, they appear in front of me…

I would recommend to stay at Abu Simbel to spend the night so the temple could be seen, 1st. without the morning crowds, 2nd. at night to enjoy the light and sound show (very good), 3rd. at Sunrise at 6am, having the best picture light.

Beautiful temples. Worth also looking into the other temples in the desert such as Aurora, wadi el-sabua anf Dakka. It is also a quiet & peaceful small town worth taking a few days to relax and enjoy the resort

If you want to stay more time with the great temples, it is worth staying one, or more than one, night in the town. The town is quiet and clean. There are some small lakes (part of Lake Nasser) near the town, so it's pleasant to walk along the road or bridge.

To get to the temples, get a motocycle truck for 10 egyptian pounds per person. In the summer get there early 7.00 am. you will probably be the first person there. Any later and the heat in July kicks-in around 11.00 am ouch and take a hat and a bottle of water.
