The city is historic with lots of history and you can take tours around the city with a guide, also a lot of hiking can be done in oybin with a mountain train to take you, but not in winter. There is a museum, five churches, local bakeries, shops and restaurants. Train station is ten minutes walk to the centre. The room was lovely with a large window, and lots of lamps so you could create a nice atmosphere. Had a fridge, kettle, desk for working, everything I needed. The area was lovely and quiet and felt safe. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice, and the restaurant food in the evening also very nice. It sets a great starting point for the tour of the Zittauer Gebirge (Oybin, Jonsdorf, Hain) and can be a great stop on the way down to the Czech Republic. I could actually see the trains from the kitchen window. The railway station is around the corner. There were supermarkets nearby, including a Sunday opening baker. Lessing Strasse is a very quiet street.
