Family run hotel with charming staff whose English was much better than my German. As a solo traveller I felt welcomed.
1,000 metes above sea level with magnificent views of the Black Forest (southern end) and footpaths lead out from the hotel.
Dinner was top quality and the style of cooking was creative and healthy. Coffee at breakfast was the best I've ever had.
Nice dining table and bed linen.

All the staff were lovely. Self service bar with reasonable prices and basic but good rooms. Excellent meals (including wild boar and deer) in the restaurant though somewhat limited selection. Sauna has fantastic views. We plan to return for another stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Proprietor was very kind when I returned the room key which I’d forgotten and left with! Lovely setting with easy walk through forest to waterfall.

It’s a family run business, they are all very kind and helpful.
Saw New Years fireworks in the valley from our balcony! Good location for the Black Forest, was 45 min drive to full snow in feldberg, which was amazing on New Years Day!
Breakfast very nice, German style and they cook you eggs of choice.
Brilliant rooms, all very big.
Best thing was the robot that helped in the breakfast room, the kids loved it!
Breakfast was a wonderful, full German breakfast: tea or coffee, bread, rolls, meat, cheese, condiments, juice and yogurt. In addition, Lesley is so accommodating that if there was anything else you wanted -- like an occasional egg -- she was happy to provide it. Location within the town was perfect -- although Wieden itself is a bit remote (see below). That said, the countryside around Wieden is beautiful and restful.

We got a warm welcome on check-in from the host. He then led us to our room and handed over the key. Later, we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. The food was local cuisine, and we enjoyed it very much. The next morning, after breakfast, the host gave us a lift to "Wiedner Eck" so that we didn't have to hike up there.
The location is extraordinarily beautiful with the hotel perched at the top of a picturesque Black Forest pass. First-rate facilities, nice pool, good dinner menu and an excellent breakfast. Multiple hiking trails intersect this area I can't say enough about it, it's beautiful.
The hotel is very clean, the rooms are comfortable. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. I have stayed here already a few times and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.
