Nice quiet and cosy hotel. The interior and furniture is quite stylish and has some relaxing and old-school vibes. The hospitality of the employee who met us and served the breakfast is above all expectations. We liked the balcony with nice chairs where we could enjoy the view and the fresh air — our balcony was under the roof, so it'd be nice there even during a rain. Sauna is good as well, allows you to relax at the end of your day. I wish our room had a bath — only a shower instead. The hotel in fact has a self-check-in, but it's a bit more complicated than it could be.
Located just south of Bonn and a short drive from the Nürburgring, this hotel is set in park-like gardens along the Nettebach (brook), and offers comfortable, well appointed rooms.

Haus Appel and the Ahrtal Valley are an annual pilgrimage for my former academic colleagues and me. Following the floods last year, we were unsure what we find this year. While there is rebuilding for sure that continues, it was wonderful to find that the hospitality and graciousness of Haus Appel, the beauty and hiking in the valley and the excellent wine and food remain!
