I stayed here 5 nights (11 - 16 Sept 2023) and thought it was absolutely fine. My simple, single (en-suite) room was perfect for what I needed (it didn't have a mountain view but that didn't matter). The breakfast buffet was generous, varied and tasted great. And the staff were friendly, attentive and patient with my rusty German! You also get (in summer season, at least) the Walser Card which gives discounts on a number of attractions, local transport and cable cars - sadly, I didn't realise until after it's also valid at the Dampfbierbrauerei (steam beer brewery, which is also worth a visit..!). The hotel is located about 12mins' walk from the village centre stores, bars and restaurants. I came to Oberstdorf for the Viehscheid (festival marking the bringing down of the cattle into the valley from the high alpine pastures), and the hotel is situated perfectly on the right side of the village for this. Similarly for the ski jumping centre. There's also possibilities for hiking/biking direct from the hotel out across the meadows, or onto any of the other hundreds of kilometres of trails around the village. I'd certainly have no issue staying here again.

"+" Well-preserved, clean hotel at a calm area of Obertsdorf. Nice surroundings, wonderful view. Parking available, in the underground garage at an extra cost. Good spa facilities, massage and cosmetics offering. Good breakfast and dinner. Nice value for money half-board offering. Most of the hotel is smoke-free. Umbrellas available for guests.

The hotel was very easy to find, and the parking was for free! The receptionist was super kind and always there to help us. We really liked the room. The room had the enough space with a nice balcony & the wide panorama mountain view. The bed and the pillows were perfect! Sauna was very nice and calm. It was really nice that towels were there for free! The breakfast was amazing. Many hotels had limited selections and everyday exactly the same, but bichl 761 had a nice variations with some differences everyday. We’ll definitely come back if the room is available when we go snowboarding & skiing in Allgäu!

Everything during my stay was perfect - from the moment I arrived (I was a bit early and instead of just waiting, I got a tour of the hotel with an overview of the spa and gym) to the moment I left (I left early and was grateful for the bottle of water for the road). Everyone from the staff was genuinely friendly. The spa was lovely and there is a "women only" section with a big terrace where one can read a book in the quiet. The gym was nice and well aired unlike most hotel gyms which end up in the basement. There were yoga classes during the week which I missed but will try to catch next time. The food was great and the breakfast buffet had many options... the location is perfect - central while quiet and just a few min from the cable car...
