Waterfront area is hyped as a great place to hang out but wasn't really much. The Altstadt is unremarkable. Walked down the main pedestrian street in the evening and felt that it was now just a place for people to ride scooters and hang out. Not very pleasant. Nice parks and restaurants by the riverside. Don't miss Camera obscura and Aquarius wassermuseum. There is cinemas in mall attached to the train station but they only screen german or dubbed into german movies

Mullheim is mostly a commuters town.
Mullheim is mostly a commuters town. It does not offer much by itself. Our primary reason to stay here was to save money but it turned out it wasn't exactly cheap to say the least. You also need to realise that on Sundays almost everything is closed.

It's a quiet town so don't expect pumping night life. You can walk about safely and the locals are very friendly. There is a good mix of food options and services. A car is needed for easy connections to other parts of Germany.

It is a lovely big town with plenty of shops and lots of bars and restaurants. Also traditional German eateries of good quality. The river nearby is worth a visit with its boats , wildlife ( geese with their young ones) and easy walking.

It was relatively clean (no hair and stuff) but honestly the carpet and tiles in the bathroom are extremely dated and there are handprints, scratches, dirt very clear on the walls. The sheets were clean, so that is definitely a positive. However, 130 euro a night is a super inflated price for what it is. The area is also a bit sketchy. The restaurant right next to the place is great, and there's a grocery store nearby, but it's not the best place to walk around. All in all, pretty meh.

The little candy treats they put in the room and the welcome cake and coffee are such a nice gesture. The location is perfect.
