Perfect location in Jena downtown with a reasonable price. The room was quite big (more than enough for a trip of 1 person during a few days), clean and comfortable. Wifi working well.

The hotel room is fantastic! Comfortable, clean, extremely spacious and well decorated. The service and coffee are individualized! Absolutely nothing to complain about, I would go back several times and recommend it to friends!

The hotel is the freshly renovated railway statiton building itself. Only few rooms, maybe 10 or so.
Inner design is nice and new, i liked the couch. Its fun that I lived in a railway station. Noises of the arriving and departing trains are barely audible, passing freight trains causes bigger vibration once or twice per night, for me it was noticable, but tolerable.
I was there in snowy and freezing winter, heating is ok.
Bed was two soft for me.
There is a small kitchen in the common space which I liked very much. Coffe and tea were free, and there is a small freezer with chocolates which works with honesty box.
Breakfast is not buffet table, one has reserved table and there is waiter. It was continental breakfest, it was ok and enough.
My room has on the east side, sunrise was very nice.
A liked the table lamps with touch switch.
Location is excellent, parking place is very near. Parking is paid on the street, but hotel guests can have free parking card. Lot of free parking places are on the other side of the rails.
There are lot of possibilities for the public transport, railway is here (Jena-Göschwith), tram and bus station in 100 meter.

perfect location, good breakfast, clean, friendly staff
Our daughter lives in Jena with her young family. This unit is not as convenient to her as others we have used but was one of the biggest and had a full common kitchen to use. We have not seen too much of Jena except the old city and the Bergau Park Mall. Both are nice and different than in the States. Would like to see the Planetarium or go to the top of the Jen tower. We found the bedroom cold in December when we arrived and the common areas cold all the time. There is a large common-use dining table but it is so cold in the area you wouldn't want to sit out there. Nice quiet area but very limited, unreserved parking. We had to park about 5 blocks away and walk back. There is a very complete grocery store called Netto just across the street that had fresh baked croissants in the morning. That was great!

Not a well known travel destination, but with family here I was able to experience a German city without a large tourist influence. It was an enjoyable visit with plenty to do over a week’s stay. Transportation always available and easy. I found the people very friendly. There were many excellent bakeries and coffee shops.

Jena is a very nice town and lively because of all the students. Lots of various restaurants, cafes and pubs. People are friendly and helpful but it helps to speak German. Do not assume you will get around everywhere with only English.

Gorgeous small university city, intimate with walking distance to the mountains, center tower with city view offered. Very quiet getaway. Most locals are patient with a little to zero German speaking English native speaker. Dare I say is a nice place to honeymoon

An attractive small city with lots of lovely fin-de-siecle and modernist architecture - I could have wandered the streets for ages. A little down-at-heel but I feel that added to its charm. Situated on a slope, which makes for interesting wandering. Surrounding countryside also very pretty. We didn't have time to go to many bars or restaurants but the atmosphere (Fri. night) was nice and it felt safe.

Jena has got everything for most everyone, busy city centre, theatre, cinema, pubs and clubs and plenty of history, If that is not your thing (it's not mine) than the surrounding hills are outstanding for walking, hiking or mountain biking as well.
The property was very cozy!!!! I barely wanted to leave the location and I mostly stayed in the room! There is a mini fridge in the hallway where you can put your food (i put mine and it didn't get stolen, so no worries about that!). the location was great - since it is a small city, it was close to everything with a 10-15 minute walk! The host was amazing and very attentive, she answered fast to my demands! Near the hotel there is a small vietnamese restaurant and the food there is great! I stayed 5 days and everything was to my liking.
The location is about 5 km from the centre of Jena and can be reached in 20-30 minutes by tram, including an 800 m walk uphill from the tram stop. The village of Jena Lobeda still has the spirit of lazy small-town life with its churches and fountain on the square. You get a queen size bed and there is no extra couch. The key exchange was not done in person, so I never actually saw my landlord. The kitchen was well equipped and the place was clean. When you have time and love hiking, definitely visit Ferdinand berg! It's amazing!
The staff at the reception were helpful most of the time, and they tried speaking English which is a bonus point in such a local hotel. But besides that no other employee spoke English, i had to communicate with signs with the cleaning people when toilet paper was out. The room was clean in general. Parking options are limited but possible, short parking time for drop off is very useful.
a) location is super in the city center which we can reach many shops and restaurant and attraction by foot.
b) the breakfast is consider good but a bit pricey compare to other hotel in term of value vs food variety.
c) the room setup is nice however the bed quality need to improve where you can feel the pocket string when you sit down on the bed.
very comfortable and clean room, and extremely friendly stuff:) because of my plan change i had to skip the breakfast next day, but the administrator couldn’t accept this (even though i said it is no problem) and she brought me a huge package with a lot of food😁thank you very much! will come back to Akademiehotel next time in Jena🫶
Perfect accommodation. Great location on the mountain with views of the landscape. Has all the lastest technology to make you feel comfortable, parking, close to public transport and hiking trails. I would stay again when visiting Jena.
The staff were attentive, courteous and helpful. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast very good.
I would certainly like to pay a longer visit to Jena, and I see no reason not to use the Maxx Hotel again.
very near the centre and university, the room was massive and very clean. very confortable. I did nto use the restaurant but very conbinient to have it just by the hotel. The staff was very friendly.
Plenty of room, large bathroom as well, a lot for the money.
It is situated near the center of Jena, and the road is not too noisy. Everything is basic yet the bed is comfy.
Breakfast. The hotel room is clean, facilities work properly. Also the hotel provides tickets (the price is included to the hotel room) for public transportation.
Everything was soooo good, the staff was very kind and professional, the hotel was very luxurious and clean. My stay in this Hotel was complete magnificent.
