Hotel that seems to be run by several young staff. Good breakfast. Very attentive staff - we wanted to watch the rugby world cup game on tv, but couldn't get it in our room, but the young girl found it on the tv in the breakfast room and we wanted it there with a couple of beers. Probably about a 20 min. walk into the town - good for walking off the drink/food. Would easily stay there again.
Once an old post office and run by the same family since 1802, this hotel offers cosy accommodation, great food and an attractive beer garden in the centre of Spay.

Breakfast was extensive, a good location across the river from Boppard. Rooms were well-appointed for the price and very clean. Pleasant ownership, who extended themselves.

I received a lovely welcome and the room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was unfussy and I liked the homemade jam.
I was traveling with two dogs and the garden at the back was perfect for them to let off a bit of steam.

The main road bypasses the village and is lightly trafficked anyway . There is small shop on village centre and 2 large supermarkets 3/4 mins up the road in car or 5/6 on a cycle . Bar/ bistro 2 min walk from Apt . The ferry( pedestrians €2 each way ) is 2 min drive 5 min walk and crosses to Boppard that has numerous shops and cafes/bistros and good to pick up day or half day Rhine boat cruises. 20 k to koblenz one way 30 to rudesheim the other so easy to visit loreley and rest of central Rhine gorge on foot , cycle , road or rail . Train and bus both stop in village with regular services both ways through the day .
