The beaches in Santa Teresa were beautiful and not too crowded. Playa Mal Pais was not as nice. Santa Teresa was a bit touristy for my taste, but the one restaurant that we went to was really good. It was called Lora Amarilla. It was at the end of the road to the beach. I highly recommend it.

It's beautiful. Relaxed and easy to be there.

It's beautiful. Relaxed and easy to be there. The beaches are pretty untouched. It's not just Mal Pais, it's the whole Santa Teresa area. Perhaps a bit overcooked with a lot of young people - but don't let that bother you, it's an awesome holiday. Try Eat Street for delicous vegan bowls and not too bad wine. And if you are a pizza lover, then you must try Amicci. I'd say they are up there with the top Neopolitan style pizzas around the world. The beach life is of course the main attraction. My partner surfs and I sunbathe on the beach. Best of both worlds if you ask me. My favourite beach in the area is Playa Hermosa which is more family oriented and quieter.

We only intended to stay in Mal Pais for 2 days then move to Santa Teresa, but we stayed for a week. Super easy to get to the surf beaches (15 mins walk along beach or 5 min quad/bike) Amazing ‘secret’ beach near fisherman’s village. The most beautiful beaches ever, monkeys in trees, pelicans in the water, lizards on the rocks. Just beautiful! In Mal Pais, when the ride is low, it creates amazing Little Rock pools to bathe in to watch the sunset! Super chilled and close to all the surf and restaurants

Amazing surroundings and gorgeous rooms. The only thing we missed is some basic supplies in the room, like coffee, thee sugar. It is important to note that the rooms have their own kitchen with all supplies and a big fridge, but you need to bring grosseries. As we arrived late in the storm, we could not eat or dribk anything here. Upside, around the hotel there are great restaurants, walking distance, all open u till 9pm. Breakfast was perfect and the staff very nice and friendly. Rooms are decorated stylefull and very clean.

This place felt so homely, with a big kitchen and lots of storage areas, it would be easy to stay here for an extended time! One afternoon we sat in the garden area outside our house watching howler monkeys in the trees above us, such a cool experience!! The hosts were so lovely, my boyfriend and Mike went surfing together one morning! A great place and would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Santa Teresa/ Mal País!!!

The hotel has one of the best views I've had in a hotel balcony, you get an amazing sunset. The swimming pool also has an amazing view and is really nice and secluded. The kitchen facilities were really useful. The room was a good-sized room with a fridge and good air con.

Amazing views, very close to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa town centres. The proximity to wildlife was also very nice- we often had a garrobo on our balcony. The large lock safe was very useful.
