Location. It is great. I visited in beginning of October and it was easy to get there by public transport during that time (it might be different when snow covers the mountain pass).
Tickets for some of the local cable cars were included and for some other ones I got a discount (I've used free cable cars only as I've stayed for one day and there was only that much I could visit).
I would really encourage to walk around the lake that is down from the hotel as it is beautiful and the view from the dam is also great!
Breakfast was very nice as well.
One thing to keep in mind - hotel is high up (1900-2000 meters) and if you are not used to mountain hotels, you might have worse sleep quality, not because of the beds or something, but because air is thinner up there and your body need to adjust to that.

Excellent little hotel right on the cross-country ski tracks (Sonnenloipe). Perfect location for a week in Goms or just a couple of days. Friendlky staff and really excellent breakfast. Bar serves very nice beer and offers an interesting combination of Thai and Swiss dishes on the evening à la carte menu. One of my regular places to stay in Gommertal!

We stayed here in 2022 and now again in 2023...and this is still one of those really great unique hotels...top of the Grimsel Pass in central Switzerland...the weather determines everything...one moment thick cloud and then a stunning view..thats the Alps for you. Absolutely amazing! What can be better than having a whirpool, sauna and steam bath inside the room for your pivate use???
Decoration was beautiful and there were a lot of extra facilities: chargers, Netflix, bath products, minibar, tea and coffee machine etc.
Bed was super comfy too and breakfast served in the room was amazing!
Yvonne cared so much for everything! She made sure that we had everything we needed and communication was superb. We could check-in earlier and check-out later. She even helped my boyfriend to organize a surprise and decorated all the room for our engagement and prepared a fondue dinner for us in the room. I will never forget our stay there 😊

The surrounding mountains are epic and the Hospiz is indeed a relaxing and comfort hotel as everything is as you would expect from a mountain resort. Employees extremely accommodating and super friendly and the cuisine is exquisite just like a top restaurant in town. In particular to mention is the top service provided by the managing couple and a very nice lady from Bavaria, Eva. Really enjoyed the stay!
