Mattawa is my home town and I have always loved it.
Mattawa is my home town and I have always loved it. It is a small town where the Mattawa and Ottawa Rivers meet. The people are very friendly and all the restaurants in the town are top notch. In the summer, they have Voyageur Days and the little, quiet town comes to life with many vendors, lots of things to do and live bands. The town is swamped with tourists.SandraCanada - 8.0Scored 8.0

Mattawa is a quaint little town that borders Quebec. The views of the Ottawa River are spectacular. It’s quiet but we love it. Very handy if you are camping nearby with a Home Hardware, an LCBO, two grocery stores and a Giant Tiger. Variety stores and gas stations too. The locals are all very friendly. Eat at Myrts! You won’t be disappointed. Tai and Chinese food are both great too. Valois restaurant has the best blueberry pie. Sitting at the town dock and watching the sunset is priceless.

Mattawa is set in wonderful scenery, at the juncture of the Mattawa and Ottawa Rivers. Across the Ottawa loom the majestic Laurentians. Great hiking opportunities, fishing, hunting. The ski hill is the highest in Ontario. Several good restaurants and hotels. The Voyageur Inn and Thai restaurant on Main street are my favourites.

For covid they gave us breakfast the night before but it was good! Boiled ebbs with juice , banana , apple , yogurt and muffin! When I stayed at Embassy Suits for my honeymoon in November , they gave me water, apple and muffin… and I paid more than triple than what I paid here! The restaurant downstairs is AMAZING! Amazing food ! We ate there 2 nights in a row !
