Goderich was an unexpected delight - good restaurants, an excellent coffee shop (Cate's), bakeries and lots of shops. Excellent cider (East Street Cidery). The improvements the town has made following the bad tornado some years ago are really impressive, especially the mature trees in courthouse square. We had expected to spend more time in near-by Bayfield - which is a charming town - but we ended up staying in Goderich and the country-side (Benmiller). And it is true: the Lake Huron sunsets are magnificent!

We have always enjoyed our visits to Goderich. The boardwalk walks along the beach are the best and sunsets are frequently a highlight. There is a wonderful variety of good restaurants: Beach Street Station one of the best for location and menu. A unique and engaging downtown octagon!

Upon arrival at Goderich you are first struck by a typical British looking octagonal road design.
The town is pleasant and the local community has it all figured out!
Life seems quiet in this small but well amenitized town. There is a local market in the town octagon centre!
Fresh produce and trinkets and everything in between are available at this charming fair held on weekends!
Remember to bring your sun screen and your good mood because Goderich has a lot to offer everyone.
A fantastic public beach awaits you! (Paying parking)

Goderich is a lovely historical town that takes you back in time a bit. It's super charming with stunning homes in the area. I love the town square, where there are weekend markets, concerts in the park, and pretty much every thing you want within walking distance. There are great restaurants, shops, bakeries, as well as the beaches and parks. It's the perfect weekend getaway spot.

The most beautiful, picturesque town with the friendliest people and I would highly recommend anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of a small town near the water, Goderich is the perfect location to go.
We were impressed. The room was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We sat on the back patio, on the river and relaxed in the sunshine after cycling all day on the Guelph to Goderich Rail Trail.
The front desk arranged for a Taxi to take us to dinner and recommended a wonderful restaurant.
Due to Covid restrictions, breakfast came in a basket. The basket was overflowing with delicious options.
I liked the owners. Nice couple who obviously care about their clients. The motel was exceptionally clean. Beds were very comfortable. Very close to the downtown core and lots of historical sites. Great free parking. The kind of motel I would love to spend a week at with my kids. Lots of things to see and do and the Goderich beach is certainly a bonus. Really enjoyed my stay.
Location is superb, as central as it gets in Goderich. Rooms are spacious and ours had a fridge, always a plus. Breakfast was very basic but ok given the price point. Ample free parking. Beds super comfortable. Odd air conditioning with both a loud and seemingly superfluous portable unit used only until we found a modern and fully functional other unit. Wifi was fine.
This Inn is so cute and comfortable. Obviously being in Goderich is a bonus as the town is gorgeous. The Inn was so sweet and the bed was super comfy. The staff were all kind and friendly. My google review reflects my feelings as well, because anyone coming to Goderich should stay here!!!!! Thank you so much!!@
Samuels Hotel is definitely the place to stay ! Close to everything. We only stayed for one night and wished we had booked for longer. We completely enjoyed the room service - the food here is to die for! They have Netflix which was a def. plus - thank you very much. Will be staying here again for sure.
Our second time here, and the new owners, a lovely family in their own right, are carrying on the well established family-friendliness that attracted us here in the first place. The other guests seem consistently to be reasonable, responsible people in Goderich to enjoy recreation and summer fun…
Polite staff, quick check-in/check-out.
Good soundproof.
Comfortable beds.
Nice and clean pool.
Everything looks new and tidy.
There is a lovely forest with trails nearby - in case Lake Huron is not very welcoming.
Overall - happy with the hotel, will likely return.
The motel is in a good location. Close to everything we wanted to visit. The rooms are very clean, and the staff are polite. They also have an indoor pool which is great for a relaxing swim. We will for surely stay there again when visiting Goderich.
The grounds are well-maintained. It always feels special to stay at a resort and spa. The location to Goderich and Kincardine, our destinations, was perfect. The breakfast menu offered a number of choices. What I chose was delicious.
Me and hubby were looking forward for a nice breakfast and then the front staff told us she didn’t prepare breakfast for us cause I think we checked in late(?) We had to go out of the hotel to buy a hot cup of coffee! :(
Exceptionally clean, staff was very nice! Free breakfast of good quality. Parking is in front of Hotel. The electric charging could be done from both sides of a bed in any way! The hotel is close to downtown.
Samuels was a great place to stay. It’s just a few minutes outside of Goderich on a quiet street. Joanne was a great receptionist. We would not hesitate to stay here again!
One of the most comfortable hotel bed we have ever sleep in, very friendly staff to make sure the facilities are working during the swimming pool area.
