The room was quite spacious, and the bed was very comfortable and larger than we expected. The location was great. It was just off the main road but nice and quiet with a few good dining options within walking distance. It was only a short drive to Maitland's town centre which worked well for us.

I read reviews and a lot were bad…I don’t know why. This was a great place to stay. Quiet, comfy beds, hot water, clean room, nice staff, very quirky place to stay, 15 mins walk to main street, pool good. Fabulous big breakfast $25. Loved it!

The facilities were excellent . The location was very private what we needed for a couple get away. It was quiet clean spacious and exactley what a couple needed for weekend away. The main house had all the facilities needed to cook up a storm and just sit on the balcony and enjoy the sunset with a glass of wine. would go again well worth it .

We booked a night here on our roadtrip up north travelling with our 2yo. From the warm hospitality, the complimentary welcome drink, and great atmosphere we knew we landed in the right place. The hotel has Incredible old world charm tastefully decorated and was exceptional value for money. Definitely not a bland, modern hotel thankfully, an increasingly rare find these days. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates an historic space beautifully remodelled that's run by a fantastic couple. The excellent restaurant, live jazz, kitchenette with free coffee, milk (Inc non dairy) treats , cereal etc was fantastic.

Although there was a hiccup with room suitability for a baby, the staff went above and beyond doing everything to make our stay comfortable. Thank you to all the staff who were so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to our next visit.

We are a group of 4 (two couples)and we absolutely loved staying at Hill Top Country Guesthouse. The location in the middle of Hunter Valley is amazing and there are so many activities to do around. The views are great. The guest house had an old fashioned style, but was very clean.
Margaret is a kind hard-working woman who has been very hospitable to us. We would definitely stay here again.
Robin made us a tasty breakfast in the morning. The Lochinvar House is easy to find if you follow the Google maps directions and lookout for the sign along the New England Highway. If you miss it not a big deal you can make a U Turn and try again. Inside the rooms are gorgeous and the house has a lot of local history. Really liked the secluded property and the local flavor, wish we could have stayed another night.

Lovely old rural house in a quiet location full of history, high ceilings, open fire, friendly host and great breakfasts. The bedroom needs a refresh although the room and bed was comfortable. The bathroom badly needs attention particularly the shower screen and toilet seat. We would be happy to stay there again if the areas needing repair are resolved.
