The island itself is beautiful (once all the day trippers have left) and most of the staff & marine biologists were really friendly. I also enjoyed the cultural walk with Blake & Jayden from Black Seahorse gift shop.

One of the best hotels in Cairns. Fabulous pool, comfortable bed with a choice of pillows and depending on your room some spectacular views ! Enjoyed dining and cocktails at the Calypso club. Borrowed bikes to cruise by the water. Clean, stylish interiors. Love that they consider environmental impact/sustainability too.

The room was excellent although the toilet flush had a few problems. These were resolved in my absence without any report needed to be made. All in all a good experience. The breakfast was good value .
Cairns Sunshine Tower Hotel is ideally located just 3 blocks from the city centre and 10 minutes' drive from the Cairns International Airport.

Fitzroy is a very small island that is a day trip for most people. An overnight stay is an opportunity to experience the island and resort after the day trippers have departed, but two nights will exhaust the available restaurant options and three nights would be too many. Note that although the apartments have fully fitted kitchens, the only store on the island stocks NO food items. Smh. Note also that the few walks available will only suit the very fit and able bodied. A big shout-out to Ali who provides kayaks and SUP from the beachfront. These and the glass bottom boat are recommended.

Bring your own snorkelling gear as hiring it for 3 days is equal to buying it. Food is expensive and the general store is really limited. Bring your own cereal/breakfast to help reduce costs.
Staff are fantastic.
If you have young kids, bring beach shoes as the the sand is very rough and mostly broken coral.
The gym is for staff only, which is strange.
Things to do are limited if its raining, bring cards or games to play.

I loved the beaches, loved being able to swim in safe areas and snorkel along over corals and turtles! Nature walks, Foxy's bar vibe, enchanting resort restaurant, great resort swimming pool, and last but not least, always lovely, helpful staff everywhere! Just the place to chill out!! Must take a pair of thongs/flip-flops.

the best part was the pristine water, Roxy Bar, the Summit hike and Lighthouse hike. Water is beautiful, however potential for box jelly-fish and irukandji stings, which can be fatal. Stinger suits are recommended during season. Pool was okay, although not very deep. Games room is okay but couldn't get coin change as wasn't working. Getting some cash from ATM failed one night due to wi-fi dropout. Most things to buy will cost you 3 times mainland cost for similar product. No dancing allowed currently. Try to get a balcony room - top floor best - or a beach bungalow. Not a great deal to do after nine pm. No cable, small TV. Nice though for quite nights on the beach. Take your own food, wine etc, unless money not an issue.

A fantastic location with excellent snorkeling on the great barrier reef right off the beach. Resort facilities are excellent and for us it was the fulfillment of a dream to visit the great barrier reef.

Excellent place for a holiday.
Excellent place for a holiday. Suites all ages with the activities available. We seen 6 black tips feeding on a school of fish which was amazing. The turtle rehabilitations centre was very informative. The pool and facilities were awesome. We would have loved a bit more variety with food. Found it very average.
The island was absolutely magical! The snorkelling was fantastic and great for kids, don’t miss the fish feeding at 11:30am and 3pm on the pier great for the kids!
Lovely walk over to Nudey beach once again great for kids and bring your snorkels there too. We’ve been here to Fitzroy Island for a day trip and now stayed over for two nights this trip. I’d say a full day visit is enough unless you choose to do the longer walks.
Fitzroy Island is an idyllic and safe place for a holiday with plenty of activities both on and off the water. With no crocs it is safe to swim and snorkel over the Coral. The resort is excellent. We loved the large pool and the view from our beachfront apartment. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was superb. What a great place to relax and have a holiday.
The Fitzroy Flyer transfer was on time & the staff were very attentive - as the weather was not great on the way to the island. The island itself is so beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed hiking up to the summit, sitting on the main beach & walking over to Nudie Beach. We would definitely visit Fitzroy Island for a day-trip but would never stay at the resort again.
The island itself is breath taking. The hotel is a little tired. A few more healthy food options at Foxys would be a good idea. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating! Great place when the weather is perfect. Not much to do if the weather isn’t good.
Definitely recommending staying at Fitzroy island resort it’s a great experience and beautiful water. So good to relax by the pool/beach. We stayed in the bungalows so was a bit of a walk to the main part but still less then 100m walk to your own private beach!!
Fitzroy Island resort is basically paradise. The room is clean and comfortable, the resort has good facilities and plenty of staff on hand. I had cause to be helped by the staff on multiple occasions and they handled my issues very well.
loved our stay at Fitzroy Island. Perfect combination of relaxation but plenty to do and see. made the most of the beautiful beaches, snorkelling, restaurant & bar. We will definitely be back again. Rooms were comfortable and quiet.
Getting to Fitzroy Island is part of the adventure and charm - loved the ferry across from Cairns. We saw enough of the island to realise that on its day, it would be a stunning place to be.
we stayed in a bungalow, we loved being away from main resort and direct access to beach. it was sufficient size for us, family of 5. had basic cooking. small fridge and bbq on balcony.
Fitzroy Island is beautiful, the staff were very friendly and the food at the resort and Foxy’s Bar was fabulous. You could also take your own food (we had self catering bungalow).
The location, as it is the only hotel in the Island. The food at was also Zephyr was pretty good, even though the restaurant's ambiance was less than desirable.
