Genuinely one of the most amazing places we're ever stayed, we loved everything about it. Sunset swims in the heated pool and the amazing breakfasts were particular highlights!

Calheta Glamping Pods - Nature Retreat, a property with a garden, is located in Calheta, 27 km from Girao Cape, 28 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, as well as 35 km from Marina do Funchal. Everything. It’s such a chilled vibe. The views are unreal. The staff are really helpful and assist with anything you need. Definitely book transport as the hill is a beast to access it. You’ll need transport anyway as there is so much to see on the Island.

Offering a garden and mountain view, Mountain Eco Shelter 7 is set in Funchal, 25 km from Girao Cape and 29 km from Santana's traditional houses. We loved our Eco Shelter stay! It felt like a real escape. Lovely location, beautiful park and surroundings. The hut was perfect. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We received a lovely welcome from Dioclecio, who was really friendly and great at communicating. If we visit Madeira again, we will definitely stay here :) Highly recommend. Thank you!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Mountain Eco Shelter. The location is beautiful - the lodges are in a beautiful Ecological Park full of plants and flowers. You can do hikes directly from the lodges. The lodges themselves have everything you need - a great kitchen, a comfortable bed and a balcony with a stunning view. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. There’s even a snackbar down the road where you can grab dinner & drinks. We loved every minute of our stay here and we are already planning to come back again.

Offering free bikes and mountain view, Mountain Eco Shelter 4 is situated in Funchal, 14 km from Marina do Funchal and 25 km from Girao Cape. Lovely cabin surrounded by mountain views, we saw so many stars at night. There's a great place to eat and drink (O Barracão), just 10 mins walk from the cabin, and it's only 20 minutes drive from Funchal (we had a rental car, but I believe there's a bus stop nearby too). It felt like a little home away from home, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent and the little kitchenette had a stove top, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fridge. Our host was wonderful, very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again!

Featuring mountain views, Mountain Eco Shelter 3 provides accommodation with a garden and a balcony, around 10 km from Marina do Funchal. This place is located INSIDE the national ecological park, and provides access to some of the best hiking on the island. We were a family of three, and everyone slept comfortably, and enjoyed walking to O Barracão, which has amazing poncha and a great food selection. The property also has a small pond with trout, and friendly donkeys. Dioclécio greeted us, and had great recommendations for hikes and information about the local area. We would love to come and visit again!

We had the most amazing stay and Dioclécio (who runs the place) was incredibly helpful and kind. We travelled with our two small dogs - the cabins were perfectly dog-friendly, and we couldn’t have asked for a better location for hiking. All in all, excellent location, service and experience.

Very comfortable! The location is great, there is a very good and low price restaurant that you can reach through a short walk. Dioclécio was very kind and gave us a few pieces of advice on what to do in the area. The position is strategic for PR1 and other trek routes. It has been an amazing stay, and we're looking forward to coming back. This place is pure beauty!
