The gardens are lush, the rooms were full of lovely touches and our daughter really enjoyed her time in the pool. The owners are so friendly and have thought of everything they can to make your holiday go well. We had fabulous food at their communal dinners, with the bonus of interesting company.

Really great little place at a great, central location in Madalena. We stayed in the topmost suite; amazing attention to detail in terms of the decor, nice views out of the window. Debra (the manager) was super helpful as well. Cinco was a great restaurant below, as a bonus.

The owner was really friendly and told us a lot about Azorean culture and life in Pico. He has built the house himself and it is spacious and beautiful. We want to come back!

Helen and Vera did everything to make our trip as pleasant as possible so we felt right at home in the guesthouse. The guesthouse is in a good location with great views over the ocean. The suite we stayed in is spaceous and comfortable. The breakfast was super good with local products and Helen and Vera made something special (pancakes, banana bread, etc.) every day to surprise us. Breakfast is served on a covered outside patio where we sat at a round table with the other guest, which we enjoyed a lot. We met nice and interesting people and had great conversations. Helen and Vera also gave us great tips for restaurants, sights and even running trails. We stayed at the guesthouse for nine days and really loved it. We highly recommend it.

Extremely welcoming, service-minded staff (owners managing there own place); nice room with own balcony and sea and mountain view; decent room size; fabulous breakfast; quality answers to every question, advice from the tourist's perspective, sometimes driven by the business interests of the other services the place offers, but never inappropriate or even intruding; located right in the middle of where the action in more and more buzzling Lajes is.

Located in a small bay of the Azorean island of Pico, the design Pocinhobay offers individually decorated rooms facing Faial Island. It is located a 10-minute drive from Madalena village. We stayed in one the villas. It was extremely private and there was so much attention to detail. The gardens are lovely. The outdoor shower was my favorite.

Pico Dreams - Sportfish offers spacious, self-catering villas with a balcony or terrace with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Pico Mountain. The staff at Pico Dreams was super friendly! I'd go back any day. The room and common facilities were also excellent.
