Offering river views, Hostal Don Frank in San Carlos offers accommodation and a casino. We stayed for two nights, once after arriving on the bus from Managua and then again when returning on the boat from El Castillo. It is in the perfect location for the bus terminal and boat port (2 minute walk). The rooms are basic but clean. Great value for money.

Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Cabinas leyko offers accommodation in San Carlos, right in front of Lake Nicaragua. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Free private parking is available on site. The hotel had secure parking for our two motorbikes. For a fee they let us park our bikes there for an evening while we did an overnight excursion up river.
