The holiday flat is quite close to the Sakura spot of Tenshochi Park and the Michinoku folk museum. The flat is located at the riverside with a lovely view and is decorated prettily. The owner is nice. She showed us some beautiful places when we arrived and drove us to the station when we had to leave.

I was the only guest for the night. Great common area for multiple people. There is a full kitchen for use and while it is a bit out of the way it was one of the best places i stayed on my trip.

The lodge is immaculately clean and cozy. We loved our tatami rooms with private bathroom / shower. The breakfast each day was delicious and filling. The common area had self serve beverages with some snacks available all day. They have both a men’s and women’s Onsen bath that can be reserved by the 1/2 hour time slot and since we were the only ones staying there we had them to ourselves. It’s a quick 10 minute drive to Simokura ski area. There are several restaurants, Akatsuki brewery and several other onsens within walking distance. The best part was the hospitality and kindness of the host couple. Despite the struggles with language, It was fun chatting with them about skiing and their lives (with the help of Google translate). We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

It was self check in and instructions given before arrival sufficed. Having use of a bike made going round town a lot easier.

I felt so comfortable and respected here. I was so perfectly treated I just wanted to stay longer. I actually did. And I want to go back. Live at the end of the world again, feel that small measure of peace again.

Nice little pub serving pizza on the property. The breakfast was perfect. Heated floors in the rooms made it nice and cozy and the showers were top notch!
