Louise and Martin are the quintessential hosts! Our stay there was on our first night in Scotland, after a very long day of travel. They warmly met us as we got out of the car, which was such a nice welcome! Small things like that are so nice! And once you try Louise's baked goods, you will not want to leave:) ... Over the top breakfast! Truly the perfect hosts, in a magical setting (with lots of chatting sheep!).

Comfortable, well-appointed room which was quiet despite being adjacent to the main road into the town. The owners and their staff know their business very well, and work hard to present a very high standard (e.g., great breakfasts!). The building is a converted church, and retains some characterful features from its previous use. Location is a short walk to the bars and restaurants in the town.

We had a wonderful stay at the Balmoral Arms. Ou room (a junior suite) was beautiful, definitely worth the upgrade as we wanted something a bit special. Everything is clean and seems recently renovated but it hasn't lost its charm. The food was fantastic, we really liked being able to eat in the pub as our dog was allowed to join us there and we liked the atmosphere better than the restaurant area anyway. The staff were kind enough to set up breakfast for us in the lounge every day so our dog could join us there too. When they say they're dog friendly at this place they really mean it! We felt so welcome and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. We hope to be back some day!

Great property in an amazing location. The welcome glass of wine was a nice touch but the main reason I would stay again, is the service levels. The owners really went above an beyond to make sure we were happy. Will definitely recommend to a friend!
