Villa Katapoliani I, hotel in Katapola

Just 164 feet from Katapola Port, Villa Katapoliani I features accommodations with a balcony. It offers traditionally decorated rooms and studios, as well as free Wi-Fi in rooms.

Located minutes from the harbour in a delightful laneway surrounded by a mix of older buildings in colourful landscaped settings with views of hillside beyond- you'll even hear goats. The area is quiet and pedestrianised, apart from the occasional moped passing by, but this is Greece! Decent sized balcony, comfort and privacy. Excellent choice of shops, restaurants and cafes minutes away.

Villa Le Grand Bleu, hotel in Katapola

Within 656 feet from the sandy Katapola Beach in Amorgos, Villa Le Grand Blue features air-conditioned accommodations with a sea-view balcony or patio.

The husband and wife team Angeliki and Stergios are quite helpful and attentive. Angeliki elicits such warm feelings that she almost appears to be running on sheer joy much of the time. Stergios is more low key and interacts in a steady and circumspect manner. The location is quite good; the town is very walkable. The breakfast looked spectacular although I am not a breakfast person. My one area of dissatisfaction is the room interior. The rooms are quite stark, almost monastic in nature. I don't believe there was even a picture on a wall, and the bed and lamps were quite old, although the mattress was firm. I realize most of the guests are French and they are not as concerned with old fashioned hotel rooms as U.S. citizens. The major issue for me was the bathroom. There is no showerhead. The shower is extremely outdated and one must use a hand held shower hose. I believe the last time I even stayed in a hotel room with a hand held shower hose was 1979 or 1980. So I would ask Stergios (he seems able to fix anything) please update the showers so that the bathrooms have an overhead showerhead. It may take a while to update all the bathrooms, but at least update a few of them. Ppl will pay more if they receive a renovated room. And perhaps, Angeliki, replace the bathroom towels with softer and newer towels. It is amazing how much better one feels, if after a shower, the towels are soft and skin friendly. (even if one must hold the shower head) All this being said, I would still stay here again, if I am invited back!!

if you think Santorini is a bit busy and crowded then head to this island for a bit of the feel of how Greece was 30 years ago With excellent restaurants and secluded beaches ( but you are going to need to hire a car or motorbike although the distances you travel a short , from Katapola to far north 30 min and to the far south 30 min and some of the most spectacular drives you will experience anywhere

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there.

Katapola is very convenient because the port is there. It is recommended if you are going to rent a car, because there is easy access to Chora and the rest of the island. It is a quiet place and has a lot of Tavernas. "Mouragio" is recommended for fresh fish. The salad with Xinotiron is a must try in Amorgos. Xilokeratidi is a nice long walk from Katapola (maybe 15 minutes) , where one can enjoy the sunset. Enjoy your cocktails at "Fata Morgana" and an amazing pulled pork sandwich. "Yukali" on the other hand offers fresh mussels and seafood pasta topped with excellent service. If you like a long hike continue your walk from Xilokeratidi to Agia Paraskevi for the sunset. It is amazing.

Quieter than other big islands and still plenty of good restaurants, rental properties and cars available. An unexpected extra was live music in a garden setting just steps from our lodging on the hillside above the port. Recommend renting a car and seeing other parts of Amorgos as well. I have been to the island twice and would go again!

Katapola is quiet and charming with a good selection of restaurants around the picturesque harbour. We visited at the end of May when it wasn't busy and the island's landscape was greener and dotted with colourful wild flowers - an ideal time for walkers.

Nice atmosphere at night, lots of bars and restaurants, and yet a quieter atmosphere compared to other busy Islands. I enjoyed having dinner at Youkali, in Katapola, and the stunning landscape of the island. Location is very well connected by bus with other places of the island, however, in the late afternoon you might need to take a taxi. Convenient as we arrived by boat from Naxos and wanted to drop off luggages, get a shower and go out to explore the island. Don’t miss the monastery with the view over the grand blue beach, the village of Chora and walking around in Aegiali. You can also do some hiking between traditional villages.

Pension Blue is well located just above Katapola, giving fine views over bay from balcony. Nickos meet us at port & greeted us around apartment. Dani’s was also helpful in making us comfortable & arranging hire car for the day. Room was comfortable, with good size balcony & fridge & while shower was big enough it would have been useful to have hook to rest hand held shower nozzle.

Staff was extremely kind and helpful. They picked us up from the harbor and dropped us off also when we left. They helped us with many different things which made our stay nice and smooth. Studio was in between the Chora and Katapola towns. Walking to Katapola was ok but we rented a scooter. The staff helped us also with the scooter renting.

Giannis must be one of the nicest hosts around! Really appreciated his kindness in everything and his advice on what to do in Katapola. We have only positive impressions of our stay at the hotel. The room has everything you need and there is a very nice view of the mountain, palm trees and the town. There is a shop and port just 2 minutes away. We were also offered a good deal on car hire, it was the cheapest in town. We recommend this hotel!

Constantinos met us at the ferry and drove us to the hotel. He showed us the property and help us plan our days in Amorgos. He was able to arrange for a car to rent, requested in advance. Was provided a ride back to the ferry when needed. Constantinos was the perfect host. Hope to be back someday.

The hotel is a very pretty building in Katapola. It’s closed to the town and the port of Katapola and sits in a very quiet street. Rooms are big, WiFi is good and the entire structure reminds of typical Greek buildings. Because of Covid restrictions breakfast wasn’t served. Really recommended!
