Baymont by Wyndham Savannah South, hotel in Savannah

The water pressure was the best I've experienced in any hotel anywhere at any time. Great after a long day of air and surface travel! The bed was very comfortable. Temperature was thermostatically controlled (digital), not the hard to control knobs at the split HVAC unit. This is a huge plus in any hotel.

Walk anywhere in Savannah from the property. We liked the 60s and 70s theme everywhere. Constant popcorn in reception was a neat gimmick.

Really nice walkable city with friendly people and interesting sites. The food scene is still developing: we were looking for amazing seafood experience like in Charleston, but it was not as good as expected. All in all a nice one night stay. The best thing was our hotel, Thompson by Hyatt.

Loved most of the food (much of it was exceptional) and historical buildings and museums. Should have probably rented a car for at least a day for our length stay. No plantation homes to see here. Needed to drive up toward Charleston. The biggest complaint I have was the nearly overwhelming amount of homeless on the streets. Oh and no good coffee shops open anywhere in the evenings. (We’re not drinkers) If I ever go again it would be 5 nights max and would reserve dinner at the pink house for sure. The dinner river cruise was fine but don’t expect to see much. And don’t package a river cruise AND a dinner cruise. My bad on that.

I love walking on River Street the going seeing all the old historical homes. Also love the close proximity to Tybee Island. However, didn't care for the Tanger Outlet mall on Pooler, they could have added more stores, and also have better clothing options.

We absolutely loved our trip to Savannah.

We absolutely loved our trip to Savannah. The scenery was incredible, the food was wonderful, and there was so much to do. If you have kids, I highly highly recommend visiting the SCAD campus. They have an immersive experience that goes through the story of how SCAD was founded and my 8-year-old daughter absolutely loved it. Right across the street is Gryphon, where we had afternoon tea. She was so impressed by the fact that it was a "real tea party". We also loved our dinner at The Treylor Park. Of course, it is a short drive over to Tybee, where we loved the beach and pizza from Huc-A-Poos.

    The Hampton Inn was terrible.

The Hampton Inn was terrible. Rooms were to be ready at 4:00. We did not get in until 5:30. Many people were still waiting at 6:15. There was a sign on the bathroom mirror stating they would clean rooms every other day. We were there Wednesday - Saturday and no one ever came to our room. We requested more towels and for the trash to be removed on Friday but they never came. Noise above us and beside us wss terrible. The hotel was very short staffed and very unconcerned.

The staff at this hotel were terrific. Very friendly, communicative and efficient. We were not able to check in early, but the front desk staff communicated with us the entire time. They also gave me tips on the area that made our stay super enjoyable. Also, after a long day in Savannah downtown, we came back to the hotel early in the night and were able to sit outside by their firepit and enjoy the beautiful weather with a nice cocktail from the bar. If you are looking for a comfortable place, low key, this is the spot.

Great location in the middle of Downtown Savannah. Walking distance to everything Savannah had to offer. Super close to the river. View out of hotel was great. Nice vanity in room. Staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Suite didn’t come with fridge but upon asking at check in one was brought up to our room for free. Had to pay 35 dollars per day for parking garage. Parking garage was located directly next to the hotel and could pull up into check in parking spot to unload luggage.

Great old house just off the beaten path of the touristy downtown Savannah. None of the frills and all of the charm. Big, high ceilings, super comfy beds. If you are expecting polish and room service look elsewhere. This place oozes character and a bit of dust. I would definitely stay here again. And I am not one to share a bathroom--this place has two and they are kept clean. A real bargain.
