Motels which are on the main State Highway one can be busy and unless adequately sound proofed you should try and avoid them or use ear plugs for sleeping, also the speed limit determines the degree of road traffic noise and also the main rail line runs through the town and at least 3 freight train thunder through during the night which are as noisy as the trucks.

Levin is a lovely little town.
Levin is a lovely little town. Close to a beautiful beach and was convenient to where we were staying. We were only there for 1 day and a night but we had great service at the Cafe where we had afternoon tea. It was close enough to Wellington Airport to drive to on the morning of our flight back home. We will definitely visit again and explore some more, the next time we are in New Zealand!

We ate at Rongali Indian restaurant and had a great meal. As we were visiting for a family celebration, we did not do the touristy thing, but drove around the area. Always a great place to visit as it is central to Foxton, Kapiti and Palmerston North.
Otaki is still a bottle neck of traffic.

There's a great choice of accommodation.
There's a great choice of accommodation. Levin Adventure Park is a must if passing through-kids and parents will love it to take a break from the travelling. If you like Indian food the Star of India on Oxford Street I highly recommend. Also the Hell Pizza caravan opposite New World on Oxford Street. Amazing service- Pizzas are fabulous and the lamb shanks are a must to try as are the sides. Dont' leave Levin without a taste from Hell Pizza and Star of India.

Nothing to fault, Loved our 5 days / nights at the Levin Kiwi Holiday park, peaceful during the festive season just right for us away from the busy Wellington with family quality time, just us and our children. We had dinner at the local Rangoli Indian Restaurant for our 13 years old son's birthday of his choice. Was easy to get around Levin no problem as everything was central. Highly recommended if you just want to get away from the City.
Thank you Levin for a great family time.
As advertised, this is a quiet facility as it is set well back from the main highway. We chose to stay in Levin 2-nights so that we could spend a full day in Wellington (only one hour's drive into the city centre). The next morning we had an hour head-start compared to staying in the heart of Wellington...and much more affordable! Very comfortable roomy apartment with a well equipped kitchen and very good bathroom. Everything was clean and homely.
The motel room was very spacious, & nice big beds , the 2 tvs caters for kids & adults nice clean kitchen
Walk in barhroom, nice hot showers... perfect for us when we traveled straight from training. We got given the last motel room which was perfect as we had a 5wk old so I was a bit worried he may keep other guests up but we were away from other guests. If we ever go back to levin, il defs be booking this motel.
Visually, the property was stunning and full of promise: green, natural surroundings, and a lot of care had been taken with creating the facilities. It is also not far from Levin - though felt a world away - and just up the road from the Greek Monastery which was definitely worth checking out.
The location was okay, we didn't scout around much but no nearby cafes or restaurants that we saw. When we went to find breakfast on the Sunday at 9.30 am, there was nothing open except for McDs. No fault of the motel, but this is what makes Levin a dead place and not for prolonged stays.
Owner were great they had a bad water leak in 2 rooms. One being ours so they had to find us other accommodations. Went to it we decided to travel back to Wellington. They booked us into a great hotel with breakfast and parking all sorted. Couldn’t have been happier thanks guys cheers Mark
We enjoyed every moment spent at the Levin top 10 holiday park, kids were so happy they are already talking about going back and staying there next time we visit family. Our first time staying at any of the holiday parks and this was a great experience!
This is one of the best places we have stayed, perfect layout, good size TV and nice decor. We stayed 2 nights and self checked in and out so didn't see any staff but it was seamless and QUIET unlike most of the Levin motels we've stayed in.
Freshly upgraded and modern, very spacious and clean. Right on the main thoroughfare so easy to find. Nice beds, furniture and very nice walk-in shower. Even had a jacuzzi tub but never had a chance to use it.
This was the only accommodation I could find at short notice. So I was grateful that I had a bed to sleep in that night. The staff member on duty tried to be as helpful as she could.
