Antequera is a pretty town with a big church and castle. Also, you can visit dolmens (in the town) and El Torcal hiking area (nearby, some 20km maybe). The town seemed cozy during workdays and quite busy on Saturday with many people cruising the streets.

Antequera is a beautiful place with loads of churches and elaborate buildings. I could have done with another day here at least. I also never got to sample the food so I will definitely need to come back.

A cosy town, not too small, not too large. The megalithic burial tomb complex dating back to Neolithic- Bronze Age (Dolmen de Menga, Dolmen de Vieta) is within walking distance from city center. Our main reason to visit Antequera was to see these 5000-6000 years old burial tombs. We loved the city.

A very nice medium sized town with an interesting historic Quarter. Everything clean and nice giving an impression of a caring local population. I think the local council has spent time and money on the historic buildings. The nearby dolmen are also well worth visiting.

It's a beautiful little town and I am sorry I did not have more time in it. I would have liked to visit El Torcal.
However, do not walk alone to the dolmens. My husband did and got stopped on the side of the road by people in a car claiming to be police (we think they might have been private security for the poligono industrial area instead), who demanded to see his TIE card and then took off without giving it back to him. We've had to go through the hassle of reporting it at the National Police station and the grinding bureaucracy of getting it replaced.
The modern apartment is in a monumental building with an absolutely gorgeous and impressive stairway. Centrally located, the old town and main street is just a few steps away. We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful hostess who had a good sense of humor and was at our disposal anytime we needed anything. Be sure to visit the La Perla factory just behind the building (you can see it from the living room / bedroom window) to buy some of Antequera’s world famous Xmas biscuits, mantecados and alfajores.
The hotel is next to a beautiful open square with chairs to enjoy being outside and people watching. You are two blocks from the tourist information office where a wonderful staff person gave us many suggestions and things to see and do. A few blocks away is a busy street with interesting shops and restaurants. The outdoor terraces at this hotel are spacious with comfortable chairs and good views. Our hotel room was smaller. The bed was great.
My partner and I have a good stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was a normal single room with a full-bed, they’re comfortable. It’s clean and warm. The bathroom was full-disinfected, clean, full toiletries provided. We came with our 2 dogs and there’s a green small garden behind that we can hang out. There’s hotel restaurant that we got good coffee and breakfast. Parking was good in all convenient.
Great location, very helpful staff, bar-restaurant downstairs with very reasnoble prices.
3 course lunch 11 euros incl drink, breakfast 6.50 ( big sandwich with serrano jam, Coffee and fresh Orange juice). Dinner 11-15 eur, delicious).
In room- Ac working good, hot water, tv. Bed ok, but there is in doble bed one long 150 cm pillow for 2- spanish way.
Big hotel with lots of rooms and corners. Nice modern lift.
The location is great for exploring the city. There is a bar/restaurant right next door which is good. As the hotel does not include dinner or breakfast. Which I knew of course). I would take up the "extra" for parking which gives you allocated parking in a secore area at the rear of the hotel. Otherwise the large free car parks are approx 0.5km away...and busy.
Hotel had a very modern, light airy feel to it. Bedroom was good. Nice view across to the countryside beyond the hotel. Very comfortable and clean beds. Great to have a bidet in the bathroom.
Location was pretty good being a shortish walk into the town.
Staff generally helpful and friendly. They enabled me to speak Spanish without speaking in English!
This has to be about the best place I have stayed in the last year! Host was actually waiting for me at the time I said I would arrive (and was very patient that I was late!!!). The apartment is very quiet, set way back from a pedestrian street, area feels very safe. Host very helpful throughout--- made Antequera a big favourite for me!
The Convent located in a very beautiful surrounding overlooking olive garden. Room is very big and comfortable.
We had very nice dinner at the hotel. For the price of 109€ pro night we don't expect anything like this. We just booked for one night not knowing how beautiful and relaxing this place is. We will come back...
The place has a patio with a fountain and a fantastic view on Antequera alcazaba. It is very spacious, kitchen has anything you might need to cook. In addition they provide coffee, marmelade, the, for breakfast.
We really liked our stay. Antequera is beautiful.
Joaquín and the rest of the staff were very welcoming, polite, friendly and incredibly helpful. It was a fantastic experience staying here, I will no doubt look to book here again the next time I am in this part of Spain.
The views are amazing and the hotel is in a really good location if you are looking to be situated outside of Antequera. The building is also beautiful but perhaps needs a bit of maintenance done to it
Very good tourist class hotel everything was fine ,allowed an early check in and good luggage storage , staff are very nice ideal for a night or two . Rooms so big , but perfectly adequate
The hotel was in a beautiful location not far from Malaga. It was clean and comfortable with a great cafeteria (we were too late for the restaurant which I believe is great too).
It was a really nice little hotel, my bed was super comfy, they moved my room so I had a window opening to the patio, shower had lots of hot water, and it was quiet.
Best bang for the buck hotel. 30 minutes from Malaga, close to Antequera and El Torcal, Room was clean and ok, There's a bar open for breakfast and late night
