I have been staying at Tie Dao many times because it's near to the train station and to the University, and because the price is extremely competitive, and I've noticed great improvements recently. The lobby has been improved with tables to work or to study, vending machines, and a coin laundry. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the new staff speak very good English. The place itself is a very affordable no-frills hotel: the room is spacious enough, quiet, and with a good air-conditioning, the bed is comfortable enough, and the shower is hot and clean. If you aim to spend little time in your hotel room, that's enough. If you want to enjoy your stay, you may mind the lack of natural light or a cupboard. The wifi is fine. There are several cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby.
Featuring free WiFi throughout the hotel, The Prince Hotel is located in the city centre of Tainan, a short 3-minute walk from Zhong Zheng Road and its many shopping possibilities.

- Travelled all over Taiwan and stayed at 5 hotels, the staff at the Kindness Day in Tainan were the friendliest, most professional and helpful of all. The staff were able to anticipate needs and were proactive in approaching me to ask if I required assistance. The room was one of the cleanest we stayed in.
- Tea, coffee and ice-cream available 24/7.
- I was impressed with the outstanding food handling procedures of staff at the hotel who wore gloves, ensured spilt food and tables were cleaned immediately.
- The bathroom was fantastic, and met all of our needs.
- The breakfast menu was vast, though it did cater to Asian tastes. There were some (very limited) western options which included cereal, salad, toast and croissants. The croissants were very sweet, which is would later learn is because in Tainan, they prefer their food a little sweeter - I do feel however, that the hotel could source a better quality croissants for westerners, particularly when the food choices for those not wanting to eat Asian food is so limited. The first morning they served oranges and the second morning, bananas. The coffee was bean to cup, and very drinkable.
- This hotel also served dinner!! The menu was the same over two nights, and again catered for mainly Asians tastes. Dinner also included a drink of beer or juice!
- We used the laundry facilities, which did not include a cost, and the machine and dryer worked without drama.

Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day.
Anping sights would definitely take up the whole day. Tainan is a lovely place to be with an excellent variety of history, cultural sites, temples, markets, and general fun things to do. Could definitely have stayed longer than 2 full days for a few extra day trips nearby, and to try more of the local things.

Tainan is known for local delicacies, which we found to be true. The night market is not crowded and you can buy many delicious items without waiting in line. The Chimei Museum is nearby and we enjoyed visiting it.

Tainan was awesome. There is so much to see and do! The free cultural walking trip of the Confucius Temple and other parts of Tainan was amazing (Emma was my tour guide- she was extremely knowledgeable, her English was excellent, and she was so informative). Anping area had a ton of culture, a market, Temples, and amazing food to enjoy. I also enjoyed the Garden night market (different markets are open on different days). It was busy and crowded but there were so many great vendors selling clothes, jewelry, electronics, and more. The food selection was also impeccable. I was only in Tainan for a day and a half. I would have spent a few more if I had the time!

Tainan is an underrated, if not, underappreciated city that withholds treasures of different sorts for you, the traveler, to discover. The cheap, delectable street food is not to be missed, in addition to the hot sunny days, which could be a relief if you happen to be traveling from the miserably humid city of Taipei.
That said, Tainan is best explored on bike/scooter, as many attractions are spread out with quite some distance in between. Fortunately, Tainan's government offers electric YouBikes for rental, which could ease the pedaling by quite a bit.
This hotel was very centrally located and included free parking for cars or scooters. The lobby area is lovely and features free reusable water bottles and drinking water, coffee, etc. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was nice. There were even lockers for your belongings like they have in the train stations/MRT if you are planning to arrive before check-in and explore Tainan or stick around after check-out. Great peace of mind to have your stuff under lock and key.
WOW! It needed a trip all around Taiwan to find this gem! What a great hotel, 10 out of 10!
Super comfy beds, I had the best sleep within weeks in there!
A generous bathroom with a cool rain shower and bathtub. Cool city view.
Great interior, very good taste in furniture inside the rooms. The whole storytelling with the sports & games isn't needed in my opinion, but it's fun.
English speaking staff. I would give more than 10 points if I could.
Location is great, familymart is round the corner, and hotel is near the railway station n bus stops with buses to different places in tainan. On Sat and Sun, there's two tourist shuttles that's very convenient. One of which reaches the Qigu Salt Mountain. Staff were very nice and warm, loved the cup of nice coffee which the counter staff brewed for us each morning. Made my day and gets me off to a nice warm start every day. Thank you.
Somer hotel is in an amazing location, has very friendly staff, a great breakfast, and bikes for rent - everything you need for exploring Tainan! To top it off, the hotel has been intentionally designed and decorated to set the scene so patrons can learn about what makes Tainan unique and Taiwan so special. We really appreciated the snacks and amenities featuring local brands, and very clean and comfortable rooms!
I often stay at Tie Daio when I go to Tainan. The hotel is very near to the main train station, the rooms are big enough and clean enough, the wifi works. The price is extremely competitive.
They provide basic toiletries and water. The aircon works well. The dark room with no windows is probably unhealthy for long stays but it was great for a good quiet night sleep.
The hotel is situated in a central location for shopping and eating although getting there from Tainan train station will require a short bus or taxi ride. I was given the room at the corner. it was large and cosy. I felt at home. I really enjoyed the hospitality and warmth of the staff!
The staff who checked us in was very friendly, professional and kindly let us get to our room early. The hotel is a quick walk from the Tainan train station. It has a very good sauna and whirlpool facilities and a nice outdoor pool. The room had a great city view.
Although the breakfast wasn't included due to the COVID-19, but we are at Tainan, there are plenty of delicacies waiting for exploring. The hotel locates at the center of the old town, you can walk to most of the famous attractions within 10 minutes.
The property was cute and clean, had fruit included in the complimentary kitchen supplies, and I was exceptionally lucky in getting quiet roommates. I would definitely book again if I take another solo trip to Tainan. Also, the beds were comfy.
Excellent service and super friendly staff. Location of the hotel is perfect, which is less than 10 minutes walk from the train station. We very much enjoyed the rooftop outdoor pool. Will definitely visit again if we ever go back to Tainan.
Very central, convenience store downstairs, good value, bunks are good. Though Tainan was a complete waste of time, there are so many more beautiful and interesting places in Taiwan, and the bus system is confusing to say the least..
Amazing use of limited space in a very Japanese-style way. Never have had such a small room without feeling cramped before. The strongest asset of this hotel is its location in the heart of Tainan's West Central district.
Got a nice and clean area to sleep and you could just spend 3 or more hours to use the B & B public facilities. BTW hotel staff service attitude is excellent which I will back there again if I travel to Tainan in future.
The room was clean, comfortable and stylish. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is in the heart of Tainan and you are close to many of Tainan’s delicious small eats.
great vibes, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. my stay was comfortable and memorable.
convenient location too! highly recommend for a positive experience in Tainan.
Awesome new guest house with beautiful and well laid out rooms, super friendly owners, and perfect quiet location (you can hear birds at night!) on the middle of Tainan
Reasonable price, clean and nice hotel.
They provide classic Tainan breakfast for us to choose.
Great location near Tainan train station. (just few mins by scooter)
